Goodell says NFL would consider ban on 3-point stance. This is a horrible idea. This would change the game forever.

Also how many concussions happen at the LOS between two linemen? It seems most of the concussions come from hits to the head from a tackle.

Actually, we should just outlaw tackling all together since many concussions occur when the head strikes the ground. Maybe they could play on a field of mattersses, or a spring loaded floor like they use in pro wrestling?

Horrible move if this happens.

Let them just play flag football that way all of the players will live to be 100 with no brain issues or leg issues.

And a long time ago..they said the same thing about having face masks. Nobody quit watching the game because players wore face fasks.

In reality, it's the college players that get shafted. The NCAA, the coaches and the Universities make huge bucks off the carnage of the players. It's a scam that transcends every free market ideal out there.

As you say, the pros can choose not to play.

Oh BTW, I watched just as many NFL games this year as opposed to last year...inspite of the new helmet to helmet personal foul rule. I'm sure you did as well.

i dont think this would be an intelligent decision. they should make a requirement on other pads. most nfl players wear next to nothing

Like I stated on the other thread on this topic, smashing your head against another person's probably has a cumulative effect on the brain more than there are single catastrophic injuries.

The fact that pads have gotten smaller and smaller (to provide speed) leaves the head as the most protected weapon with which to hit someone.

I'm hoping we'll see some new technology as far as the helmet is concerned before we see the 3 pt stance outlawed. But I certainly won't stop watching the NFL if they decide that it's a necessary move in order to let the guys that abuse themselves for our entertainment enjoy normal lives w/ their families after the game is over.

i think you guys are somewhat overreacting. What the hell do I care what stance they are in???? It won't affect my outlook on football. It may require a period of adjustment, but i'm not going to never watch football again if it happens, and I doubt many others will stop it either.
