Kobe Bryant receives "MVP" chants in the Boston Garden. LOL.

-----------------------------------
I’m not sure how I missed this little ditty from WEEI’s Jessica Camerato yesterday, but I did. Apparently, Mike Bibby has noticed the chorus of “boos” his mere touching of the ball illicits from Celtics fans:

“I don’t even care,” Bibby said of the jeers. “It doesn’t really matter to me, you know what I mean? We’re winning. We’re 3-0 on them, that’s all that matters.”

He definitely has a point. The Hawks are 3-0 against the Celtics and at the end of the day, no one talks about officials or injuries, they talk about W’s and L’s.

On the flipside, what he said to spark such animosity from Bostonians is just as deserving as Bibby’s underwhelming response. I know you haven’t forgotten, but just in case you’re a Laker fan checking out the site, here it is:

“A lot of these fans are bandwagon jumpers trying to get on this now,” he said during the first round of the 2008 postseason. “I played here last year, too, and I didn’t see three-fourths of them. They’re for the team now and they might get a little rowdy, but that’s about it.”

----------------------

This is the most overrated "storied" franchise in the history of sports. They've won 17 finals, and 11 of those came when they had the LeBron James of the fifties and sixties... only the league was full of white guys who smoked Marlboro reds.

They were nowhere to be found until Larry Bird showed up, only to get absolutely pwned by Magic Johnson. And then they went into a 20 year funk where they hardly did shit. They're fucking bums. That's why Red Auerbach is burning in hell right now and Larry Bird will be joining him prematurely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Look no further than here as to how much of a joke their fans are. OMG, BEEN A BOSTON CELTICS FAN SINCE I WAS A KID. Yea, then where the fuck were you guys before the Big 3 showed up? I saw absolutely zero Celtics shit until 2008. ZERO.

The Playoffs start in April. Where will crying happen this year?

The Celts of the 60's were the most dominant pro run in all of sports.

The NBA didn't even exist in the 60's so I don't know what you're talking about. Or are you talking about how "old school" Cavs fans used to be Celtics fans?

Didn't know this until after Sunday's game, but the Lakers originally owned the pick that Rondo was drafted with.

Your obsession with the Celtics is pretty dumb. Seriously, I know I'm just "feeding the troll" here but this thread is absolutely pointless. Do you honestly feel that threatened to start this thread anyways? Your lack of actual basketball knowledge and appreciation for the game really shows with every one of your posts on a NBA thread.

The fact that you're from Lima/Columbus and a Bengals/Celtics fan just shows your lack of knowledge about sports & just generally how the world works in general.

QUESTION: Why didn't they give Paul Pierce the PEDs they gave him during the 08 Finals so he could try to fake another Willis Reed moment?

Exactly....before there was Cav basketball...there was Celtic basketball. Back then, there was the "game of the week" on channel 3. The Celtics were awesome back then. But if you wanted to, you could watch the semi pro Akron Zips on the tube.

How and why in the hell does that prove anything? I grew up watching sports with my dad and he grew up watching the Celtics and also roots for the Bengals. So I watched sports with him and naturally grew up with them as "my teams" as well. So once again another one of your "points" is flawed.

If anybody wants to talk bandwagon or fairweather, they need look no further than the LA Lakers.. Half the people that go to Lakers games in LA don't even give a shit about the team..

Laker fans are the most civilized and eloquent fans in the league. We don't even care about championships anymore. I didn't even buy a shirt last year. All we care about is dynasties.

We support our team and our true fanbase is easily the most knowledgable fanbase in the league. While we do have our groupies (as all successful people do), don't judge us based on those idiots. Also, don't judge us on the Cholos either.

Boston fans are full of alcoholics, wife beaters, arrogant Eastern elitists, people with terrible accents, entitlement, and pompousity (Yea, I just made that word up).

Their team features Kevin Garnett, a chump who talks trash to the likes of Zaza Pachulia and acts like he cured cancer by disappearing in crunch time during the 2008 Finals. (I'm still not convinced he even played). However, when somebody his own size picks on him, like Ron Artest, he cowers like the school girl he is.

Also, Boston Celtic fans are racist. If your dad liked them in the 60s and 80s, it was because the Celtics were a bunch of honkies. You can't tell me any different. KG didn't even want to go to Boston at first cuz blacks are treated like second class citizens there.

Also, they should be stripped of their "storied" franchise due to Kobe getting MVP chants in the Garden. Hell will freeze over before Paul Pierce got MVP chants in Staples.

But then again, Paul Pierce aint no MVP.

Boston was a pretty racist sports town in the 60's I agree. But you are wrong regarding the Celtics.

Red A didn't give a shit about skin color. You could either ball or you couldn't.

The 60's team had KC and Sam Jones (no relation) along with Russell. They also had a bro named Satch Sanders. Part of the reason that I liked them so much....Hondo Havlichek and Larry Siegfried from Ohio State were on their team.

Jerry Lucas played with Oscar Robertson with the Cincinnati Royals. I liked them too.

After the Cavs arrived, I grew to hate the Celtics. Nothing personal, it's just the way that works.

I watched Boston eliminate the Miracle of Richfield Cavs in 76 with a heavy heart. And had Chones not broken his leg, the Cavs would have snipped down the nets that year.

As for the Laker fans....they act like they're at a band recital...politely clapping at a nice play. The fruitballs did the same thing when Roman Gabriel played q back for Rams.

We clap like scholars because we only accept dynasties. We don't get excited in January like the Cavs fanbase did last year (and they're doing this year).

Boston is still fucking racist. They're just not as open about it now.

Apprently you weren't around for the Rams. They would play the Cowboys in the title game and clap their hands like they do at the Masters when Tiger taps in for par. Hilarious shit man. No passion no fire.

Ever wonder why the LA doesn't have a pro football team? Well, now you know why.

Keep the Cavs off your fuckin' keyboard!

Oh, and lol... Who is this "we".. You're not in LA or the surrounding area with the other Lakers fans...

If you know some Lakers fans now, they'll be Cavs fan after this year ;)
