I think ESPN wants Lebron to play anywhere but Cleveland because they can't fathom the fact that someone might actually choose to live in Ohio rather than Miami, LA and New York. That is the truth. That is why you all write those articles- because the people writing them are not from here and can't fathom living here.

Patently untrue. ESPN shows as many Cavs games as we're allowed to, and we'll continue to do so if he stays. One of the problems with the whole eBron debate is that Clevelanders and Ohioans get extremely defensive and think people are knocking their city/state when that is not at all the case. There are New Yorkers who leave New York because they yearn to live somewhere affordable. There are people in L.A. who gets so sick of the car culture they head for the hills. LeBron is a human being just like you and me, and he has the right to choose his perogatives. The difference is that he's going to have to explain the reasons behind them.

This year, ESPN has posted articles linking lebron to the following teams next year: NY, NJ, MIA, POR, DAL, CHI, HOU, Wherever John Wall Plays, and LAC. You guys are criminally insane. He has zero reason to leave Cleveland. Other then Miami, and a potential pairing with Wade, please give me one logical reason he would go to the above teams

Sometimes, when a person has lived his entire life in one place, he yearns to move on. Thst statement doesn't necessarily apply to LeBron, but it applies to millions of people in this country who are in their mid-20s just like he is. Just one small thing to consider in the whole Will He Stay or Will He Leave debate.

It's no secret that Chris Sheridan is a HUGE Knicks fan and has been pushing the LeBron to NY movement forever... A lot of people felt that he disrespect Cleveland and Ohio in this chat and he was bombarded with comments from Ohioans...

Interesting note, Brian Windhorst said he expects LeBron to sign a 3 year extension in the offseason.

The media really would love for Lebron to move. If he does then he'll be like Brett Favre in Wisconsin, but worse because there won't be an Aaron Rodgers to keep the place competitive.

Will Cleveland fans boo Lebron when he leaves? It will be interesting to see once he makes his first trip to The Q as a member of a opposing team.

Not sure how this equates to Sheridan being "owned". If anything the Ohio guys seem like they are a little touchy. Who cares what ESPN or Sheridan says? I love that he said, "Ohioans get extremely defensive and think people are knocking their city/state" The conversation he had with those guys was the epitome of that statement

The truth is, the pro-LeBron leaving crowd has nothing to lose here. Cleveland and the Cavalier fans have gone all-in and are bankrupt if he does leave. The NBA and fans of every other franchise will be fine with LeBron James in Cleveland, it won't be any different than it is right now. However, if he does leave, it pretty much ends basketball in Cleveland. The franchise was close to gone before he saved them in 2003.

That's why it's a defensive issue. One side has nothing to lose and everything to gain and one side would be devastated with nothing left.

This is why I think he stays in Cleveland. The Cavs simply couldn't recover from the loss of him.

I don't think anyone would disagree that the mainstream media wants all the big names to play in the big market, east coast cities. Even in the LA market, unless there is a huge star or media darling, becomes irrelevant to the east coast media. Look at college sports on the West Coast when the big name schools aren't winning (notably, USC in football and UCLA in basketball).

I didn't really get that either. I think both sides can make valid points.

For the record, I don't personally think LeBron leaves, but I don't think anybody (including himself) knows for sure yet.

Exactly. In fact I kind of hope he stays just for the fact that there will be a statewide meltdown if he leaves.

If being able to refute every damn BS reason the media can come up with as to why he should leave means Cav fans are defensive, then yeah I guess we're defensive.

This is Cleveland. He will leave and be the next villian/tragic moment in our sports history. When he comes into town with New Jersey, I would put good money on the game being forfeited because of thrown objects and death threats.

While I'm not sure how Sheridan got "owned" from the clips put above, as it seemed to be more back-and-forth than one side owning the other, saying Sheridan is being perfectly reasonable makes me think you want to suck him.

As someone with experience in the media, all I can say is that if you're resorting to a "well he's in his 20s and young people in their 20s often move to other places" argument, you really should realize your argument sucks. Really, really, really sucks when you consider that due to his profession, he travels to most major cities in America (which the average 20-something doesn't) and that due to his wealth and fame, he could spend any amount of time during any off-season anywhere he wants (something else that the average 20-something can't do).

I don't know what LeBron will do after this year and can't say I'd be shocked if he moves on, but it's hard for me to believe anyone could be stupid enough to make the argument Sheridan did in that chat excerpt with any degree of seriousness.

as a "cavs faithful", i resent that.

I was a cavs fan before lebron, and if he leaves, I'll still be a cavs fan. Granted, I'd love to see him stay, but if he leaves it will just further my hatred for danny ferry for not trying to set this team up in the event that lebron leaves.

Yea the title of this thread is misleading. I for one, think there is a much stronger chance that Lebron leaves than anyone else in Ohio seems to think.

I just don't understand why he wouldn't have signed already if he is going to. He's leaving the Cavs franchise in limbo and is bringing unwarranted attention.
