2. It's a joke. The players do not try at all. Offering 5k to the winners and 2k to the losers isnt going to get them to play hard.
3.The refs even go half-ass. I've seen obvious facemasks, holdings, and false starts missed.
4.The coaches dont even have enough pride to try and win. Going for it on 4th and 8 and retarded stuff like that.
5.Rodger Goodell is gay. The no blitzing and stuff is retarded. If a player is afraid to get hurt then dont play. I would rather watch a bunch of 2nd teams go all out then this garbage.

I never directly stated that I want the all-pros and 2nd stringers playing. First off, David Garrard is a starter in the league..so fail. Secondly, I said I am against the no blitzing rules.

So basically what I want is all pros who go all out and are not limited by powder puff, two hand touch rules. Just to clear it up.

I've never understood the Pro Bowl. Pro football, at it's highest, most intense level, is a physical sport where each play you can have serious, career-threatening and possibly life-threatening injuries. Watching teams play for pay and pride is why the sport is so popular in the first place.

With that said, you really can't have an all-star game with a similar intense setting because you put players at a major risk to jeopardize what they can do for their teams (and for fans) in the future. At the same time, no other sport takes a physical toll on you like football, and playing this game after 7 months of game-speed intensity makes it very tough to even field the best of the best (odds say many of them will be injured by the end of the year).

Also, the game is played AFTER the season (basically), and that just adds to the wear and tear to the players. Unlike every other major sport, where the game is played in the middle of the year (where players don't have as much of a physical toll on them).

To be honest, if I was a good NFL player, especially one who hasn't yet gotten a "phat contract", I wouldn't play in the pro bowl either. I don't care if contact is limited and the rules are there to protect players, there is still a greater injury risk than in other sports. Add to that, if you play to not get hurt and/or not hurt others, you really take away from why the sport is so popular in the first place.

I know when I want to read one side of a discussion, nothing says professional quite like using the term "retarded" to refer to something you disagree with, preceded by calling a league commissioner "gay".

And since the no-blitz rules go back to Tagliabue, this just proves that you have no business talking about anything related to professional football.

I really don't like Goodell, but he didn't make the no blitz rule. I believe it was instilled back in the late 90's, however, I could be wrong.

Oh I agree. We watch sporting events to see competition. There really isn't a lot of competing going on in this game.

What this game does show is that:

A: Quarberbacks will tear up any secondary when he knows he has all day to throw. and

B. Passing is much better per play attempt than rushing.

I like how all 7 of these reasons could have been summed up and put in one sentence, as they all pretty much repeat the same thing.
