But didn't Amare supposedly bitch about not getting enough touches when he played with Shaq before? That is what they are claiming on KNR anyhow.

Listening to Chad Ford's chat today.

Cleveland is basically interested in a lot of the big name FA's.
-Amar'e, Jamison, Iguodala (would have to take Dalembert) etc.

I'd be ok with picking up Iguodala and Dalembert depending on who we had to give up.

Yeah he did, and he had a point. The Suns had to play through shaq when they had him on the roster, otherwise he would be completely useless to them. The Cavs don't, and won't do that. They filter most possessions through LeBron and their play book is one play deep, the pick and roll. There isn't a better Pick and Roll big man in the NBA right now than Amare. Touches wouldn't be an issue with amare on the Cavs

Actually, as of late the offense has been going through Shaq when he is in the game. Just look at the 1st quarter against Miami with Shaq getting 4 touches for 8 points over 6 possessions. It would have been more touches but he was hit with two fouls early. When he started the 2nd quarter the play went through him until he was taken out.

He is getting the most touches he has received all year recently and he is producing.

With Mo and to a lesser extent Delonte out Shaq is getting touches because he is the second scorer on the team, at full strength he is at best the third option.

Correct but even before that he is starting to get more touches. This was the plan for using Shaq. Let him get into the game flow early on and then slowly incorporate him into the offense as the season progresses.

Some douche says of the 7 teams interested in Amare don't count the Cavs as one of them...is ESPN against something that would essentially keep LBJ in Cleveland that bad?

Well Cleveland is interested its already been reported.

Secondly, did he say of the 7 teams interested that Cleveland doesn't have the best shot. Because he would be correct imo.

Cleveland wouldn't be able to offer a package that wouldn't hurt the core of Cleveland to get Amar'e. Right now they are fine with trading Z (buyout), JJ, picks, and cash. There is always the possibility of West being traded (his contract isn't fully guaranteed next season) but the FO has always loved West even after his issues.

There will be teams that can offer more young talent or better picks than Cleveland for Amar'e.

Well, we all know David West is no longer an option.. I don't think Amar'e is either, unless we somehow get a 3rd team involved.

Jamison is still in question...

We'll see what happens with RIP as well..

I do think we'll see a move, the question is for who and for what..

I stand by my Statement that I'd love to see Kevin Martin from the Kings come to the Cavs, but I don't know how well his defense would fit in the Cavs, but he'd definitely be another scorer who'd be more than capable of filling in at the #2.

Purely selfish of me wanting him, I also don't think we've got the players required to get him, but would be nice.

Yeah, I believe the Hornets got under the luxury tax today with a small trade so West is gone.

Cleveland would need a 3rd team but that is a lot of work to put together for Amar'e.

Yeah they just completed trades to get rid of Devin Brown and Bobby Brown, so they should be set to go in terms of luxury tax.

I'm not sure about you guys, but I think I'd prefer Amar'e over Bosh and Jamison, but would be happy with either.

The Hornets aren't quite under yet.. I believe they need to cut another 425k which if they can do, will earn them the $5 million pay check from the league this summer..

EDIT: Didn't see that the Hornets also traded Bobby Brown, so it is possible that they're under now..

highroller, I agree that I'd rather have STAT over Bosh.

Yeah I read on ESPN that the Hornet got under so their good.

I'd rather have Amar'e but reality is our best options are Jamison and Murphy.

Bosh won't be on the market as the Raptors are decent and will make the playoffs with a good chance of knocking off their opponent. He'll be traded in the off season.

I honestly don't know if he'll be traded. I'm starting to think Toronto has a great chance at re-signing him. The team is improving and it sounds like he's becoming content with being in Toronto.

As of right now I see him getting traded.

But the Raptors are improved and if they pull off a playoff series win in the 1st round I could see him sticking it out.

But he is one of the better players that people don't talk about because he plays in Canada imo.

So the realistic options are still the same with possibly Iguodala being thrown in.

If we start to here of a 3rd team for Amar'e I'll get excited but we don't have enough to compete with teams straight up.

Here is a recap from Broussard talking on KNR I found over at RCF.

-Most people felt that the Cavs weren’t championship contenders in the summer
-believes they can win the championship, but not the favorites
-Boston and LAL are still most people’s favorites
-Cavs need to make a trade to put the haters over the top
-Suns aren’t just shopping Amare to get him out, they are just listening to offers
-No serious discussions of the Amare trade
-Phoenix likes Hickson, and they would need the payroll relief with Z’s contract
-If Phoenix only wanted cap relief they would just Amare’s contract run out
-Don’t write the Cavs off on getting him, but it would cost us more than Z’s contract
-thinks Amare could cause possible issues
-‘Tawn will almost slide in our lineup seamlessly
-Broussard doesn’t think Amare will want to share the spotlight with LeBron
-Shaq and Amare would cause issues (on the court)
-Suns and Wiz will wait until the deadline when the deals get sweeter.

-Broussard playing Danny Ferry:
-Thinks that Jamison/Amare is the best fit, says it’s a little far-fetched, but not impossible
-if the Cavs get Jamison…they will be able to keep rollin with the punches
-if the Cavs get Amare, they will have to make some adjustments, and we could end up like Orlando/Toronto…lots of talent just tossed on a team. It doesn’t always work
-Broussard thinks Amare has matured from when he was on the Team USA, the guys didn’t like his work ethic and the effort he put forward
-The Cavs need to talk to LeBron and Shaq if they go after Amare

As stated on RCF. Troy Murphy will be like waking up christmas morning after asking for a bike and getting clothes. Real nice clothes. But clothes none the less.

Eh Murphy will be one of the lesser options.

I read this trade that would work:

Z (buyout)/West/Moon/J. Williams/1st

for

Iggy/Dalembert
