Round one of hockeys biggest player rivalry starts tonight.
Versus did not pick up this game. Neither did TSN out of Canada or CBC. Hard to believe that no "true" national media outlet (US or Canadian) is broadcasting this one.thavoice wrote: PPG says its on FSN pittsburgh......doesnt say VS..but a chance it is on there? I know..I could look it up but why should I do something when someone else will for me?!??!
Should be electric tonite at the Igloo.
Just some food for thought........Crosby can pass, take faceoffs, get back on defense, kill penalties, register a lot of assists and as of this year, he can score too. Crosby is second this year in goal scorong, two ahead of Ovechkin. There's no other player on this planet that's as complete a hockey player as Sidney Crosby. Ovechkin is two points ahead of Crosby in total points right now so it does even it's self out on scoring but comparing all around hockey skills and mind set, Ovechkin doesn't come close.capninsano wrote: This is really apples to oranges on who is better. I think compared to others at their position, Ovie is the best. But if I were building a team, I'd have to go with Crosby as my first pick.
Bingo! Crosby is always looking to improve his game, just look at what he's done in regards to taking faceoffs. Sid realized he need to score more goals so low and behold, he's scoring more. I just don't see Ovechkin being that committed to his game.thavoice wrote: Sid is scoring more goals this season than he usually does. They were making a big deal early in the season how he was being more assertive in shooting the puck.
Look at who Ovi has as linemates: Backstrom and Semin who are world class players. Then look at Crosby who plays with Kunitz/Dupuis and Guerin. Big difference right there.capninsano wrote: I agree that Crosby is all around better, but you would expect that out of a center. That's why I say it's apples to oranges. As for the goal/point scoring, Ovie had an injury stint and has played 9 less games than Sid...Given the same number of games, Ovie would have about 4 more goals than Sid and around 11-15 more total points.
Correct. He's up here with Jefferey due to the injuries to Dupuis and Talbot.David St. Hubbins wrote: He doesn't know whether to cry or wind his watch!
Pens 3-2
Second goal was Nick Johnson, I think he must have just been called up from Wilkes-Barre this week?
