tought miss by UNC and then they allow 10 seconds off the clock before fouling!!!
Gotta understand the game better then that! WOW!....on the flip side with 4 seconds left GT should've launched the ball as high as they could throw it towards their own basket.

And I can breath.
That sly look Will had hopping back down the court after that three.
Back to reality.

Again....UNC misses game tying/go ahead shot with less than 13 seconds remaining...GT rebounds at the ball with 11.5 seconds left and does not get fouled until the 3.4 second mark.

This NC team is committing more bonehead plays than NC has in the past 10 years!! Even at the end, they had 3.7 seconds and all they got was a 30 ft airball for an attempt?

Inconsistency yet again. The first 10 minutes of this game was the worst Carolina basektball I think I have seen under Roy Williams. Just absolutely awful. They finally got it together, made a great run to take the lead, and then gave the game away with stupid mistakes and poor execution in the final minute.
This team shows signs of turning the corner, and then almost immediately, they revert back to looking clueless. This was a game that Carolina really needed to win, and they didn't get the job done on their home floor. Now they're 12-6, 1-2 in the ACC, and I'm honestly still not sure if they will ever put together 40 minutes of solid basketball this season. I really hope they wake up soon, because if they don't, it's going to get very ugly. The ACC isn't THAT strong this year, but there are several solid basketball teams. Wins are going to be hard to come by, even more so if a team is turning the ball over and making mistakes that you don't even see from good high school teams. We'll see how it goes, but I'm not the least bit encouraged at this point. I really hope things take a turn in the right direction against Wake Forest, but I'm not counting on it.

Can't believe I am saying this, but I think Tyler Zeller is the only Carolina big who can consistently finish around the rim.
Some of the things I saw today from Davis, Thompson, and Henson were shocking. Zeller isn't flash but he has nice touch around the rim, something I think the aforementioned lack.

I agree, swami. I've never seen so many easy looks missed around the rim. None of those guys finish around the rim, especially if there is the least little bit of contact. Too many pump fakes and putting the ball on the floor instead of going up strong, finishing, or going to the line.
This team is just really frustrating. I expected some struggles this year, but this is well beyond what I imagined. Hard to believe that this team has lost 6 games already, when Carolina had lost a total of 7 games during the two previous seasons.

I was fully prepared to have Heels nation jump all over me for saying that. I was ready to defend my stake with shooting percentages.
Glad I don't have to use that.

I agree with ya swami.
It seems like Zeller is the only one who doesn't need to take a dribble or 3 pump fakes to get a shot off.

I think it now should be obvious to everyone just how good Tyler Hansbrough really was at Carolina. He might not have looked smooth doing it, but he could score the basketball in traffic. He brought a physicality to the Carolina team that they are obviously lacking this season. I don't think there's anyone currently on the roster that can provide that attitude or toughness in the paint, and it's apparent that the size and length of this Carolina team doesn't really matter because they are overmatched when it comes to pure strength and aggressiveness. The strength of this team was supposed to be its front line, and they ARE talented, but they haven't been physical enough against some of the better big men on the schedule. Couple that with extremely inconsistent guard play, and you have a recipe for disaster.
Losing four of five starters, your four best players, is extremely tough to recover from. No Hansbrough means no toughness inside, no Lawson means no proven floor general, no Ellington means no serious perimeter threat, and no Green means no versatile player that can do a little bit of everything and do those things well. Everyone, myself included, thought that the freshmen would develop more quickly. We also believed that Ginyard and Thompson would provide some real leadership to go along with talented guys like Davis and Zeller. Things certainly haven't gone as planned and the result has been hideous.
Eventually, things will click for these guys. I hope it's sometime soon, or at least sometime this season, but I'm beginning to wonder. Unless there is a drastic change, this team will struggle to win 8 ACC games, which may leave them in a position where they have to win the ACC tournament to make the NCAAs. When I say that I feel like I'm being overly pessimistic or too critical, but honestly, it's probably true.

Ginyard has been an absolute bust this season. He's supposed to be a leader, but he's as shaky with the ball as any of the others...
No real leadership, no real post threat, shaky defense, terrible ball control, and no real floor general are recipes for disaster...
At 12-6, UNC will need to get it together or they'll be participating in the NIT...

Ginyard is a role player being asked to do more on a young team than he is capable of. Not to beat a dead horse, but I really think the Heels caught a break with his injury last year as Roy would have taken minutes away from Ellington and Green and given them to Ginyard.
