I would think this helps their grocery delivery initiative go country wide.

Buying low. $13B is a lot, but not a bad price to snag Whole Foods and help with their grocery delivery initiatives.

Amazon's market cap gains today exceed what's the company is paying for Whole Foods. Pretty crazy.

Whole Foods was in pretty big trouble with every mom & pop and superchain bringing in organic (at much better prices). I haven't looked much at grocery delivery. Save me 10 miles round trip, plus driving and shopping time....that's probably worth $10 to me.

Was looking at Whole Foods delivery the other day - think it was free for orders over $35 if you pay $99 annually (otherwise $4 a pop). Problem is, every other day delivery so my meat is fresh is $105 a week - I don't think there's $100+ of overpriced food I want from there (mostly I just buy fish there). Great deal for a family, not so much for a single person.

Haha....I might be a little nervous if I lived really close to a Whole Foods lest Bezos turn it into Warehouse Foods.
