Not only have SS taxes risen dramatically, so have Medicare taxes; not because the rate increased but because the cap on the taxable wage base was completely removed. So now you have some folks paying double, triple, quadruple and up more than they paid before. And all of that is simple marxist redistribution again since they are contributing far more than they will use (in relative terms), while certain millenial deadbeats roam around supporting Sanders et.al. and expecting to be coddled from cradle to grave.

Quite the opposite; government needs to get the hell out of the medical business. Once that happens, and we develop a true patient/provider market, cost will decline, and taxpayers will have more money to be able to take care of themselves.

BIG government spending is THE problem.

Sure. Big government spending is the problem. But the citizens, collectively, have voted for big spending but not the required taxes to pay for that big spending.

I'm good with either side of the coin. If we want a smaller government, we can probably afford it with the current or lower tax structure. If we want the government we currently have, we need taxes that can match current spending levels. Are you willing to take big cuts to the Big 3 entitlements and defense to do it? Good luck.

My outrage is not just aimed at Boomers though. They are easy targets. The issue is much larger than that and it really boils down to the value people place on education in this country. We are a country increasingly full of stupid people who then breed the next generation of stupid people who care even less about education. More and more millennials are going to college but many of them aren't deserving of a true degree. I believe the top of the pool is getting better but the disparity between intelligence and ignorance is growing rapidly; I don't see this improving in my lifetime.

I didn't vote for big spending. The problem we have now is that almost half the people who have a vote do not pay any income tax. If you don't even pay $100 per year to support your national defense you should not get a vote. No skin in the game; no vote. That would ultimately stop a lot of deficit spending, if not all.

I am ready to transition away from government providing SS and Medicare.

I am ready to eliminate massive amounts of costly, burdensome, onerous, and ridiculous regulations.

I am ready for massive overhaul of the tax system, and elimination of 80% of the IRS.

I am ready to eliminate the Department of Education.

I am ready to eliminate the federal EPA.

I am ready to eliminate or consolidate over half the agencies that currently exist.

I am ready to sell federal assets to pay down the debt.

I am ready for the federal government to get off the backs of The People, and get out of their lives and their businesses.

Other than the first one, which isn't specific and probably wouldn't change much, none of the above would have a substantial impact in balancing the budget. It would help, sure, but it would barely be a dent to solving the issue.

You keep ignoring the question though conveniently. Will you support cuts to the Big 3 entitlement programs and to the DoD budget?

Term limits...... If I was a candidate, Term Limit would be a topic that I would hammer home.... Congress and Senate can no longer be a career but a public servant ... limit politicians eliminate corruption and fraud...

I didn't ignore the question at all; I just called for eliminating the Big 3 and getting BIG government out of the retirement and medical business, and returning the money to The People. As for the DoD budget; it is THE one thing we should be spending federal taxes on --- defending the nation. Do you have a reading comprehension issue?

No. Actually my reading comprehension is fine, you just refuse to answer my simply question with a Yes/No and instead go off on some random tangent that has nothing to do with the question.

The reality is, the only thing that matters if we you don't want to raise taxes, is a substantial cut to entitlement programs and the DoD budget. If you aren't for making drastic cuts to all 4 program, then you are giving lip service to reigning in federal spending.

And, it is not lip service; I am talking about vast structural change (for the better, long-term) ..............obviously uncomfortable, but necessary.

I am sure there are efficiencies to be gained in the defense budget; however that is not the area to focus on when trying to balance the budget; you have to go to the heart of the problem. And as mentioned, long-term, we need BIG government out of the retirement and medical insurance business ---- it is crushing us, and the returns are horrific.

You can't balance a school budget by cutting extracurricular activities or going 'pay-to-play', and ignoring the 85% of the budget that is wages/benefits. Does not work.

I wonder if any of the dumbass Republican candidates realize the stench of Cleveburgh will rub off on them at the Natl Convention and they will lose like every other competitor from Cleveville has done for 62 straight years. If they were stupid enough to pick this shithole for their big party they deserve to get kicked in the balls during the general election.

I would have to agree...I have supported Trump the whole way because I think all the candidates suck but he is losing steam very fast right now.
