Tyler Thompson made scratch yesterday at 113 for West. Matthew Shaw took first at heavyweight. And I was the most exhausted I have ever been how did things for the city league at licking heights?

Walnut Ridge did very well getting 2 to the finals (Madison-182, McGowen-152) with a champ in McGowen!

MF's New impressed me at 160!

All city league coaches need to call their AD and forcefully request that they tell downtown to inform principals that grades NEED to be in on TUESDAY by noon! Records days were added to the calendar so teachers have no reason to not have grades in by that time (even by the end of the day at the latest)! Our wrestlers who have busted their butts to get eligible should be able to wrestle in the 1st dual...it's the reason we moved the date in the first place!! : thumbup:

Agreed, but the problem isn't going to be with admins. Grades are due district wide Tuesday at 245pm. Verification sheets get printed and all grade corrections are due Wednesday by 245pm. I don't know why new eligibility sheets cannot be printed on Wednesday before our matches, but to me, that's not a teacher or an admin issue.

Anyone interested, we are hosting Whitehall this coming Thursday and are looking for an extra team. Weigh ins @ 5 wrestling @ 6. Email me back asap, first come first serve.

Coach, I keep forgetting to tell you I had a nice conversation with Alec Mills out at the National Duals. He has gotten huge! Every bit of a 174. Still a super polite kid and he has turned into a fine wrestler. I Expect some good things out of him in the next 1-2 years, congrats on putting out a good one!

Thompson is at 113, was ill. Quiinnonez and Fryson will be wrestling off at 220, Quinnonez had the skin funk this week. Matthew Shaw also trying to cut to 220. Quirroz was ill, is at 145. McCoy moved to Portsmouth mid season, Mitchell cutting to 170. Brown weighed in at 173.4, had to wrestle up, yes they only brought 3. After next season things will clear up, we should have a full lineup minus 132. Right now, I have in the dual championship and the city championship Walnut Ridge #1, Whetstone #2, and West/Mifflin #3. If the Briggs kids get dedicated they could sneak in at #3 but they need to do that in order to even have a chance.

Weds night at the State Duals Whestone and West will be facing off the night before our match up in the city dual championship, but I am only sending our JV kids to the state duals. :RpS_lol::RpS_lol::RpS_lol: #ikidikid #donthatemetom #wwtjd #itsnotunusual

I don't see Briggs having a shot at 3rd, not enough bullets, tough at 160/220/285 with decent 126/132.
I really don't see the purpose of the state duals for city teams; too hard to fill a lineup, fill it with quality wrestlers, compete outside the 1st rd! jmo

For me personally, I like the state duals because it is free mat time, and my kids that could be DQ get an opportunity to face other kids on that level or better that we may not see at other tournaments.

We finished 4/12 today at Jonathan Alder. Great performances all around.
