Exactly. This country was hailed as THE melting pot. The only one on the planet. Today? We are all handed a label by our government and every political group under the sun. Why? Is it working? Are we better off as a society pidgeon-holing every person? Is individualism now defunct? Are we better off?

What period in history were we not divided by race? As I said, up until 40 some years ago the government was actively declaring people second class citizens because of their skin color. This fantasy world of a melting pot has never been reality.

Spoken like an indoctrinated student of the left. We are one of the few countries that stresses about race. Martin Luther King had a view of this country where a man would be judged by his character, not by the color of his skin. But we can thank the left for preserving racism ad infinatum with its "diversity" and its sectioning of people into groups, bestowing advantages on some and taking from others based on the color of their skin or ethnic heritage.

Allen West, and, to a more gentle degree, Ben Carson, have stated....Liberalism is the new plantation, and the progressive elite are the slavemasters.

You have made my case in words I couldn't use. Segregation was declared illegal decades ago, and yet, you and the statists would rather see everyone classified by race, creed, religion, sex, and sexual orientation so as to provide subsidies, tax breaks, preferential hiring practices and unenforced laws in order to preserve multiculturalism. It's where we are and it's where the founding fathers vision for this once-great country are left to die. Multiculture won. You should be thrilled you have divided, separated, and conquered Americans.

First blacks to attend white schools and colleges was 1970 so he's not that far off. Check out the stories if the sec about when they tried to integrate ole miss and people rioted. That was between 1970-72 if memory serves. Also I do get you could probably find one or two blacks who graduated here and there in the north prior to that. However blacks as a whole were denied access to equal education until the 70s

I understand why blacks tend to vote democrat - from the historical perspective. I understand Jews voting that way much less though. I understand they've been persecuted throughout history, but that doesn't apply in the US quite the same. What I mean is the discrimination they faced here is no different than what many other groups faced - not particularly unique. On top of that, Jews have done extremely well in this country by many measures (education, wealth, etc), much better than virtually any other demographic. So it is difficult to see them as a persecuted, downtrodden, or whatever else you want to call it. I think the straight ticket voting from them comes from a contrarian tradition that exists within their culture.

I don't think Jews and Asians overwhelmingly vote democratic. Show me the proof. I think the majority of New York Jews and Jews in general vote democratic The ACLU faction most definitely do but I would say it's not far above 50%. As for Asians I would guess 80% of them vote republican .

I've always said that tagging labels on people creates nothing but seperationalism. That the only instances where you would even need a prefix was if you had dual citizenship or perhaps were born in one country and then recently moved to another. For the life of me, I don't understand the need for having a prefix for any other reason.

Yes and there it is! Blacks don't know what's good fer em and vote for the masters on the liberal plantation! I knew that if I came back to this thread it would not be long before this nonsense is spewed.

And why would any black person want to vote for the Republican Party when they regularly hear the wholesale disrespect for their voting choices from Republicans and Conservatives?

In reality, most blacks have different views about social justice than what is offered by the Republican Party Platform. Rather than try to persuade in good faith, they just tell blacks that they don't know what is good for them and are voting for modern day slavemasters.

And my gosh it is utterly ridiculous for old white men to continue to act like it's those elite librulz sectioning us into groups! It's always teh LIBRUlZ!

Old white men have been sectioning people into groups and bestowing advantages based on skin color since the Founding.

And yes, the Classical Liberals want very liberalized legal immigration. The Cato institute for instance supports immigration reform that would allow more child migrants fleeing violence in Central America to have pathways to citizenship or residence here in the States. What I posted comes from black conservatives who know which party empowers them by actually adhering to MLK 's posit that a man be judged by his character, and not by the color of his skin. Their viewpoint is aggressively ridiculed by the left, because such an independent attitude is dangerous to the masters who claim they own the black vote.

Frankly, I find it insulting and incredibly cynical to imply that whites are all about sectioning people into groups and that will always continue. Moreso, if what you say is true, then what Allen West says also is completely true. At least West has the decency not to stereotype ALL whites...only the liberal ones who make the policy.

That would be a yes and no answer. As far as party lines blacks have voted heavily democrat for years I think it started to sway heavily for the democrats in the 30's. You do have some although that vote democratic just because that is what their parents and granparents have voted. Asians aren't that far behind in voting democratic 70%+.
