This is a shame because I think someone will pick him up and he'll thrive. When Shanahan and his ZBS came in I kinda knew that Faulk's days were numbered. This whole competition has been nothing but a big sham perpetrated by Goldberg as he has been in bed with Hoyer since the day he got here. Johnny knew it, which is why he could have given two shits about this off-season.
We are destined to be the Atlanta Falcons of the early 90's who never gave wild child Brett Favre a chance and shipped him out of town to keep a journeyman QB who never won shit in his career.
We all see how this is going to play out already, and they are just wasting everyone's time while we waddle to a 7-9 type season with Hoyer at the helm that will be just good enough people want to keep him around but not bad enough to see him run out of town (like he should be).
Johnny will be left to wither and die on the vine and probably traded away when we commit to Hoyer's mediocrity long term because he broke the streak of double digit loss seasons.
Our only hope is that at some point Haslam steps in and overrules the football people and mandates Johnny be put out there. Although he was drinking the Hoyer koolaid as well with his "learn to be a back-up" quip early this year so I don't even know how much hope to even put in him ever seeing the light.
