Looks like another story I read misquoted the Deadspin article. They weren't teammates.

I really don't care much about this story, mainly because I wasn't exposed to the initial sob scheme and getting into this guy's legend. But this post is 1,000,000% correct. Our media is awful. Journalism standards have gone by the wayside so they can get sensationalism with accuracy being damned. I don't know if Te'o is gay, I don't care if Te'o is gay, I don't care where he's drafted, but this IMO reflects worse on the media than anything Te'o said.

Yep. He graduated in the winter of 2012. He was signed in the NFL by the time Te'o had already met "his girl."

You know, the girl his father said visited multiple times over this past summer...

LOOLLLL. Um Te'o said he met the chick after the Stanford-ND game. Why would that make me think he is a victim?

This still doesnt mean he wasnt in on it. The fact that Manti knows the guy makes it more plausible, imo.
If he wasnt in on it, doesnt change the fact Te'o is a pathetic liar.

karen, on one hand, im glad that at least it seems like he wasn't involved in some elaborate cover-up. on the other, i'm still at a loss for words at how much of a dumbass he is. how do you consider someone you've never met a "girlfriend?"
