Not that I really give a shit, it's a picture. Now if the school treated it as anything more than a picture or required students to be more respectful of it than other pictures, or to pray, etc, etc then I'd have an issue with it. But a picture, while technically I don't think it should be there it's fairly innocuous.
Agreed

Public school is nothing but brainwashing anyway so propaganda and indoctrination are in full force daily.

Not in my mind, although I'm not as sure as you that they would lose. As it becomes more and more evident that Jesus actually existed (although who/what he was is and will remain subject to debate), the argument could be made that he has as much business on the wall as a historical figure as any other.

If not, what would be different if it were put there in 1979 or 2012?

The school should donate to a local christian church and be done with it. They will not win.

Was just giving some background. No it doesn't matter....but it was also without complaint for 66 years.

Gift from a student lead Christian organization.

I'll sleep the same whether it's up or down.

I watched it on WSAZ news and the woman in charge of getting all of this going....yikes. There were an estimated 700 people crammed into the cafetorium and 4 people were against the picture. The woman seriously sounded possessed at the end of her speaking allotment.

I don't which is sadder - the Wisconsin group for worrying about a simple picture of Christ in a school, or the locals for insisting it stay up. It's all just a struggle to show who has the most power.

Lol....update for atgaf.....picture moved to High School Arts area for about a month but has recently been taken down due to a court ordered restraining order. Lol......until the case has been decided. So for now it appears the atheists got a restraining order against Jesus. Powerful

The Wisconsin group is a publicity hungry group of atheist evangelicals. They bitterly complain about religion of activily promote atheism is the exact same way that born again fanatics do it the other way around. There is absolutely no difference between the two. The Freedom from Religion Foundation has done nothing to make the world a better place whatsoever.
