Oddly enough (because it's obviously not the norm), I think Weeden threw a better deep ball down the sideline than a short timing route. Unfortunately, Shumur's WC offense didn't have much room for deep balls down the sideline.
I was a big advocate for drafting Weeden last year (although, I was hoping with our 2nd rounder, not at 22). I still think Weeden has the physical tools to make it in this league. Unfortunately for him, time is definitely an issue because of his age. This is the year he's gotta get it done, because if he doesn't the new regime has already made it clear they will move on without batting an eye. I do hope that he can figure things out, though, and use the experience he gained last year to really develop and improve this year. I believe the Norv can make him into something, and that would be ideal so we don't have to keep finding a new QB and can build in other areas of need.
