We are stating a new Club for the Central Ohio wrestlers on Monday nights at Hilliard Darby.
We will start at 6:45 to give the kids a chance to make it out. We will go hard for an hour and 15 min and finish by 8:00

Goal:
This is for the serious wrestler that needs to get that extra work in or someone just trying to get better.
Extra opportunity for those that cant afford the big time clubs. HS and JR High(lightweights make sure you have a partner).
Drilling and Live sessions. Get in get out.
This will be a very reasonably priced club with non club members welcomed for $5 per session.
Pricing info to follow shortly. I wanted to get this out right away to get kids out here ASAP!

First session will be Monday Dec 19th 6:45
Will probably run thru the TOC in April.

We need to get Central Ohio back on the map!
Only ONE team in the State Poll.
The NE has these type of extra sessions everywhere up there.
Lets start to build it down here.

Just bring a serious attitude towards working hard and getting BETTER!

Thanks to Hilliard Darby Coach Brendan Moody for letting us put this together in Darby's excellent wrestling room!
I will update when things are more settled. I just didn't want to let another Monday go by!

I hope to see alot of Cent Oh STUDS!
Enter at the Leppert Rd main school entrance go past the gym to upstairs to the room.

This is a great idea, I've often wondered why the Sunday open mats ended when the season begins. A lot of wrestlers go to Jordan's or Miron's or The Barn. Not that $5 a week is alot, but I'd like to see it be even less or better yet, free.

Bitter, we have to charge something. We will have a good deal for the full yr that will be very fair. I think $5 is very fair.
And it's a nice option if you dont want to sign up for the club full time.
Most clubs charge at least $10 per session for non members.
Jordans $12. Prodigy $10. Mirons $575 for 1 day per week. (I know cause we've been to all of these) What's the Barn?
Im not saying this is better than those options, just saying here is a CHEAP, LOCAL option.
All proceeds will go to the Club and or the Hilliard Darby Wrestling Program.
I hope to eventually bring in some guest Coaches/Clinicians.

Don't thank the Darby Coaches... This was the lites vision and he has been working hard to organize; I hope everyone takes advantage of this opportunity bc it could be what gets many over the hump!

The Ohio Capitals Club is the name.
Most of us Central Ohioans are in the Ohio Capital Conference and Columbus is the Capital of the Great State of Ohio so it only makes sense.
We still welcome the privates and MSL or ANY other league or school to come.

Pricing:
$60 for the year (approx 18 sessions)
Sibling discount of $10 each
Non Members $5 per session

Great room tonight with a couple of SQs and a couple other real potential SQs there. Several DQs too.
Good turn out with it being started on such short notice(close to 20 kids).
We hope to build this and get 50+ kids working hard here on EVERY Monday night.
Thanks for the efforts boys! You had a good hard extra session that will pay dividends down the road.

Central Ohio/OCC get out to Darby on Mondays!
We had a state top ranked kid come in from SPRINGFIELD!
Why do you think the great ones are great? They put in the extra work!

We will get another great session in next Monday tuning up for Medina.
Take advantage of the room where the District Tourney is held.

This is a great idea. But, as far as Marysville's wrestlers they do an open mat on Sundays. I dont think its likely they will do one on Mondays as well.

Thats OK. I know people have there own schedules and what not. We did already have a Monarch come last week.
This isnt for everybody, just the ones who want to put in the extra work on Monday nights.

I guarantee you that the kids up north are putting in extra time EVERY DAY!
We are just trying to give kids the opportunity to take advantage of extra mat time without having to pay a thousand dollars.
Im tired of seeing our Central District kids going 2 and out at the State and having Buckman putting down our District!

Id like to see some other schools host something similar on other days of the week.

Great group last night! Over 30+ kids!
Bradley had most of their Varsity line up over. They look very strong. Thanks to coach Riggs for supporting the OCC (Ohio Capitals Club)!
Great to meet Westie and a couple of solid kids he brought from West!
Also some of studs from Ready and St Charles came out looking for the extra work to get better.
Darby had most of their Varsity kids there again working to get better.
Good luck to all in the upcoming Holiday Tourneys! Thanks for coming.

Id like to reccomend this to all in the central ohio area, great competition, structure, and lots of space so dont worry about any stupid injuries. A great opportunity for anyone who is looking to get better!

There is no open mats in Marysville on Sundays. if so I would be running it. Is their still open mats at Darby on Monday the 2nd

We are going to take this Monday Jan 2nd off. Big grind from Medina and some kids got banged up.
We welcome the bowls and sneak a rest to gear up for the stretch run.
We will resume next Mon Jan 9th thru April!

Hope to see Cent Ohio out at Darby and anyone else wanting to make the trip Jan 9th 6:45.
