Apparently Orrville never holds. The chain gang moves the chains until it's a first down and the person on the clock does whatever he wants with no direction from the so-called "officials". Ashland won inspite of all this. By the 4th quarter, the Arrows owned the place. The Rider mystique instills zero fear. Ashland has taken 5 of the last 6 and three in a row from the much vaunted Red Riders. Yet, we continue to hear about the "tradition" and the title in 1998. Check the calender, it was a long time ago and Orrville is still living on the dream. The Arrow monkey on the back has got to be getting heavy. Numbers 11 and 52 are the absolute definition of unsportsmanlike. They should be embarrassed for themselves and their town. If 52 doesn't sit the next game, there is something wrong with the coaching staff. A complete joke.

Ashland's non-conference schedule was absolutely brutal. Should of beat Dover and West Holmes. A conference title will definitely help ease the pain of not making the playoffs this year. Winning the OCC, first, is always Ashland's goal.

Wallyk , we can talk tradition because we have one. 592 wins, 21 times in the playoffs, 4 state title games, a state championship, Eight more wins and we become one of only 4 teams in ohio with 600 wins and 20+ playoffs. How does Ashlands tradition stack up next to that ? Have they even reached 400 wins yet ? how many playoff apperances ? Oh and i believe they have been playing longer than orrville has. What is embarrassing is when a team the size of yours from a city the size of yours losses to little orrville. You do make one good point no. 11 and 52 should be punished for there actions on the field. There is no place for that kind of behavior and i hope they are forced to sit a game . Don't let the actions of those two speak for our town, thats not what we are about.

Take what wallyk says with a grain of salt. From what I have seen of his posts through the years, he gives Ashland a bad name. Overall I think there are some good people in Atown, but he's the bad apple.

"We're better than we're playing offensively," said Orrville coach Doug Davault. "We're our own worst enemy and have been all year."

"There were too many negative plays and we couldn't finish things out," said Davault. "There's no excuse for us not being explosive offensively. We have too many weapons for that not to happen. As a coaching staff, we have to figure things out. As the offensive coordinator, that falls on me."

Davault, however, said the inconsistent play can't be blamed on injuries.
"We're banged up, but everybody's banged up seven games into the season," he said.

"We have to get the offense figured out," said Davault. "A big part of that is confidence. Right now we're not there. We've always been 'We've got the ball, here we come.' That hasn't happened yet. We've got to right the ship."

Good win Ashland, you were clearly the better team last night....i don't know what it is but we always struggle with the arrows...even our state title team lost to them. Coach Valentine runs a good program.
