Charlotte wanted Thompson bad. What if we made this pick for a trade later?

Falls into the thought we have a trade lined up for the Bobcats 9 and 19. Now maybe 7 and 19??

Charlotte wanted Thompson at nine....

And we didn't make it for a trade. We took a 48% free throw shooter from Canada because Gilbert is convinced he can beat Lebron to a title and isn't willing to build the team like a logical person.

No doubt JJ is the better player. But I think the caves are tired of waiting for him to grow the fuck up.

I agree. Just seems weird to take another PF when JJ is your starter

Because he's a head case and he's still taking it in the ass from Lebron. I want him, Gibson AND Varejao GONE....

Ya.. Midstate said he could see TT as an 18-10 guy.. Well JJ is already that. We also have Jamison.. Id say our 4 is our best set position

Maybe not, but neither is Thompson. The consensus among nearly all the teams and analysts was that he's better than the guy we just picked. Couple that with the fact we reached for a guy at a position we don't need, and this is a train wreck from a management standpoint.
KR1245;811811 wrote:Maybe we drafted him for Charlotte
That would be the only rational explanation, but then again, Gilbert doesn't operate a team like a rational person.

Moreso because he only plays one end of the court and tunes out his head coach. This roster also needs to be purged of all of LBJ's "buddies" before they can move forward...

I don't mind the Thomson pick. Really the two prizes in this draft were Kyrie and Williams and they're gone.

I hope Gilbert does some wheeling and dealing, everyone is expendable.

"The Cavs wanted a big man to pair with Irving, and they passed up on Valanciunas who they were said to like, for somebody they knew they could count on to step in and play right away. Thompson is a quality defender and looks to fit well alongside J.J. Hickson, but may be difficult to score when playing alongside Varejao. They did pick up a quality forward with good size who can bang with anyone in the league. If he develops an offensive game he could be a good catch. Little bit of a reach, but pretty good pick"

JJ is good when he wants to be. But doesn't play hard all the time and doesn't enjoy rebounding too much.

I agree that he doesnt play D and is a little hard headed. But why do you feel the need to get rid of everyone LBJ was friends with?
