Watson came back from an injury and took over the spot. It is too bad, because Barklay is tough. He was way too small to wrestle 112. He is going to be a force to reckon with next year when he gets bigger imo.
iGranby;685797 wrote:man, i used to really enjoy reading Bucksman, but he just keeps bashing the crap out of us, i agree with sid, lets get Russell on the map, hehe
In bucksman's defense the numbers do not lie, northern ohio wrestling is and has been that much better than the central and southwest. With that being said, bucksman does seem to get a bit more snobby about it year by year. I also read his breakdown for the Fairfield District and he was much more harsh with them lol.

When it comes to which area is better in wrestling he has been. When it comes down to his predictions, no he isn't 100% spot on. He does a pretty good job though, and it is always good reading/discussion material.

You really dont have to be Nostradomus to figure that out.
Everybody knows that but Buckman has to throw it in your face every chance he gets unsolicited.
I just saw him trashing Fairfield too. At least we arent alone lol.

Agreed, thus why I have said he has been snobby about it. Refer to post #25.

I loved his quote on yippie a couple of weeks ago saying, "the Darby District is even more atrocious than normal"

Apparently the new rule is that once official weigh outs are started on Friday night, if you are over, you are out of the tournament. There is no running to make it and no coming back the second day.

When does the tournament usually start weigh-outs? Isn't after 145 or 152 matches begin? If that is the case, isn't that a bit unfair to the 160, 171, 189 and perhaps even the 215 and heavies? I mean the 112 pounder got around 45 minutes to check and make their weight. Once the 171 pounders get of the mat, they do not get the chance to check their weight since the Friday night weigh-outs have begun!?!?!?!

??? Is this correct?
According to Baumspage, in the Hilliard district "important details" section:
"Saturday, February 26, 2011
Doors Open: 6:45 am
Use qualifier and team personnel passes for admission
Weigh-in: 7:00-8:00 am
For those who did not make weight Friday evening"
"Time Table" also lists saturday morning weigh ins

That is not the issue. The issue is, if you are over on Friday night are you out of the tournament?

Time out! Let's reset. There are a few things going on here...
American Guesser laid out what he thought was the new rule. It may or may not be. But let's lay the ground work...
It used to be, if a wrestler was over on Friday night by a certain amount, that wrestler, after checking his weight, could determine if he wanted to work the weight off and thus weigh-out that night OR wait until the morning to weigh in.
I think that this is where the (alleged) new rule (again, it may or may not be the case as hammer43065 pointed out) comes in to play.
(Alleged) New Rule: Once the Friday Night weight out session begins, you cannot do the "I'll check and see" bit. It is either weigh-out now (because this is the weigh-out time and not the "Check and See" time) or wait until Saturday morning (as Cruiser94 stated).
Does this sound correct, rassler? Is that how the (alleged) new rule works???
Also, does anybody else see teams bringing their own scales!? Guess what, if the above scenerio is true, then you can guarantee we'll have ours in hand!

Someone already tried. And having done it last year, I don't want to take the time to add up the points. And we only had like 8 to 10 people involved!
However, it was good fun. (It was also AMAZINGLY easy to tell which ones my brother and I did! Demas went down on both accounts!!! And we had two other District Champs on there as well! If not DC's, definitely SQ's!!! )
