I think Chanel is the favorite to win the tournament then Ignatius could be runner ups or Moeller could be there too

Chanel is small school division. Iggy and Moe are big school. Chanel small school champs. Iggy or Moe could be favorites for big school.

I am excited to see Smith and Hall down at 103 and 112. I think those are the best weights for both those guys...this is a great tester for state tournament action!

smith is good, but Assad will handle him. I see smith stalling to keep it close, but Assad wins by at least 5pts.

Great win for Smith. I'm not too proud to say that I thought Assad would win as well. Smiths ability to keep matches low scoring and win is very impressive.

In my eyes, getting to three was his biggest opponent. It appears he has overcome that. Smith had a great amount of talent, and I hope I'm at the Schott to watch him during the three day festival we call Ode to Dip'N'Dots! If this is how he wrestles at 103, 105, 106 or whatever the weight was today, I like him to place.

The referee screwed Smith in the finals......First O.T Period no score with Smith taking at least 2 shots to Rix's 0......2nd O.T Smith rides him the whole 30 sec......3rd O.T Rix rides Smith the whole 30 sec....4th O.T-Rix gets choice and goes down.....Smith rides him for the first 20 sec and the ref hits SMITH for stalling to end the match......no stale mates called at all.....first whistle of the last OT was a stalling call that ended the match..............HORRIBLE CALL!!! All the refs watching the finals said it was the wrong call that a stalemate was the right call. The thing that got me the most was that I know Smith took at least 8 shots the whole match to Rix's 1 and that is the truth and Rix was never warned....very piss poor officiating.....The Ref who made the call was actually(after the match) getting a lesson from the other refs on what the right call was.....bottom line is that Smith got his first loss of the season(very nice win in the semi's against Assad/Chanel) but will only make him better especially after he adjusts to the weight cut.

Sounds like one of the top gun finals. I just commented this weekend that I never see a kid get called for stalling in the "ultimate o.t.". Now two finals matches at two of the better tournaments. Chalk it up to one more thing to try and figure out as to what the officials are going to do. God forbid the kids get to decide a match!

While I agree that scoring in regulation would solve the problem, there are overtime rules in wrestling because sometimes matches go to OT. The "Ultimate Tie-Break" is a ride out situation. The top wrestler is not required, by rule, to attempt to turn his opponent. His job, by definition is to ride. It would seem odd that a wrestler would be penalized for doing exactly what the rulebook says he's supposed to do.

I wasn't there and have no dog in that fight, but it just sounds like another case of an official not knowing his rulebook.

BITTER.......exactly! Bobby definitely had more chances to score(in at least 3 times and couldn't finish and went out of bounds) and was "never" threatened to be scored on in over 8 minutes of wrestling.....BUT HE WILL LEARN THAT YOU CANT PUT IT IN THE REFS HANDS! It was not a judgment call it was "definitely" a blown rulebook call!! It's all over now and every ref in there said the call was blown but it was definitely a learning experience for Bobby....I'm glad it happened now and not in March! Once he adjusts(had to make scratch 103 Saturday and hold 106 on Sunday morning) to this weight Bobby will making a run in March at the Schott.
