What could have been if Craig Krenzel actually went into the field he graduated from. Dude is smart.
What is he doing these days anyways?
I know he is involved in some real estate. He is a partner w/ Bobby Hoying (I believe), in the group that owns Olentangy Commons in C-bus. Other than that, I'm not totally sure.

Most research motive is driven by future or more funding and or potential for market purchase. Unfortunately, I agree with sleeper in that the motive is rarely as moral or rational as having an end to a societal detriment.

Because of a typo, I had like 6 people bring it up, like I said whoop-de-doo. And you're entirely naive if you think the Cleveland Clinic doesn't have a vested interest in the funding of a local college. I mean did the experiment kill cancer cells? Sure, but is it a cure for cancer? Absolutely NOT.

A lot of people have potential cures for cancer and a variety of other supposed incurable ailments, but THIS IS ABOUT FUNDING NOTHING MORE, get it through your thick skull.

Not when certain entities have given it a thumbs up. Sure, more money will be poured into this guys research now, but the story isn't a ploy for more money. It's just news.

Well if Cleveland State fell into the lake tomorrow, they'd still be able to work with the best university in the city, and maybe the state, Case Western Reserve University. So your conspiracy theory is extremely flawed. Besides, the Cleveland Clinic doesn't need any university, they are one of the best hospitals in the world.

Case Western has nowhere near the resources of The Ohio State University, I don't buy the "we're private, so we're better". Ohio State can go out and buy the best professors, the best technology, the best anything, Case Western can go out and, well do none of that LOL

But of course, like I said, if you truly believe that this is a credible news story with no other motive, then that's okay, more money for me. =)

Sleeper, the Cleveland Clinic is widely regarded as one of the top hospitals in the nation/world, it's vastly more respected around the world than OSU is...

this isn't a fucking competition between OSU and CSU, so get over your inferiority complex and realize exactly what the fuck it is we're talking about.

How the fuck do you think drugs/cures get discovered in the first place? This is the exact way ust about every other fucking cure for diseases have been discovered... It's first tested, then if it works it moves through the ranks before ultimately being tested on humans.

If it works, thats fucking fantastic, if it doesn't, then at least we're making some progress against the disease.

With that said, is it money driven? No shit. Money makes the world go around, with out money, nothing like this is possible.

Which is why I said they should make money off of it but if you price it insanely you're evil no questions asked.

That'd be like making penicillin or polio vaccine really expensive.

Patents on drugs, last I looked into it, are 20 years. After that, they can be produced as a generic. This gives the company that created thew new drug time to recover their expense and turn a profit from their R&D, clinical trials, advertising when the new drug came out, etc.

After that, it's a free for all. As it should be. There's a reason why Aspirin and Acetaminophen are so cheap. They are generics now.

Bro, you make no sense.. It's that simple. You try to be the "funny guy" with your one liners, however, you should keep those to the sports threads because you at least strike gold every once and a while over there..

I'd also expect the education you're receiving from The Ohio State University would allow you to put together a coherent and grammatically correct sentence, however, that's not happening either.. I'm somewhat confused by all faces of your posts in this thread.

And unfortunately, we do this more often than we would be willing to admit. I don'rt really have any link on this, but I think it would be almost impossible to get someone to say it, particularly if it was someone who would have definitive evidence of it's truth.
