Tribe has not been playing all that well, but the AL Central is one of the worst divisions (outside of Cleveland) I have ever seen. So they are still relatively comfortably in first (3.0 games about 1/6 of the way through the season)

We host Texas for 3. Kluber pitches the finale and Tomlin doesn’t pitch at all. So, that’s the good news. The bed news is Texas IS planning on starting pitchers in all 3 games, and thus far, that basically means the Indians won’t score.

  • 6:10 (Hamels vs Bauer)
  • 6:10 (Fister vs Sunshine)
  • 1:10 (TBD vs Klubot)

Go Tribe!

Good Luck northerly friends. I hope the Tribe sweeps and Gallo hits a couple meaningless 470 footers

2-1, Zimmer barely scored and would have scored 2 probably if not for him holding Lindor up. C’mon man. Bauer looks good

Looked hopeful as we got the lead, now not so much in the 8th. Bull pen problems. 4-3 Rangers to the B8.

Wow! Shit changed with clutch hitting!

7-4 Tribe in the 8th.

Yonder was rested today as he was the only guy to play all 26 games this year and Tito said sit.

Called on to pinch hit in the 8th and with the Tribe grabbing the lead 5-4, with runners on second and third, smacks a single.

To the 9th.

...and Allen can’t close it out, and exits with two on and two out, up by two—ugly as hell even if we do hang on

And we win as Beliveau closes it out after a little struggle.

Weird game.

But we will take it.

Can someone tell me the Tribes success rate in Sac Bunts this year? Like, not just is the rate awful, even when they get the bunt down successfully, it doesn’t lead to runs. They need to just stop. It’s awful.

According to Baseball- Reference, the Tribe have attempted 7 sac bunts and successfully gotten 5 of them down. How many of the 5 have led to runs? I cannot find that.

I like it. He says the Astros are using pine tar to help their pitches have better bite. He has Mc Cullers all riled up.

Bauer is an interesting dude and a very good follow on twitter.

He's a giant nerd who figured out how to be a good pitcher, it's crazy. Besides the drone incident, I think the guy is great,

His big beef seems to be that they wouldn't let him use glue on a pinky that doesn't touch the ball, but allow gum and other items that he has "proven" to increase spin.

In this game, I don't get why Gomes fouling it off into himself isn't reviewable? They got it wrong, plain and simple. The goal should be to get the correct call made. So dumb.

Rangers taking BP off of Clevinger in the 5th—he just can’t seem to get through an order the third time around.

Trivia question from Hammy:

Who was the last Indian to tie a game in the bottom of the 9th with a grand slam?  (It was in 1980).......Go for it, cat_lover!  He was also a former Ranger.

BTW.....It was Brantley's first career GS.

Now we go to the 11th, running on fumes.  We have Goody in and the only pitcher left is ZMac.  The only bench players left are Gonzalez and Perez.
