Hue up at the podium givng a masters in spin. On two occasions during this presser, Hue Jackson referenced the Browns (1-27 over two seasons) as being 1-28. I guess we're banking on an L against the Packers?

I see the browns winning this week. KISER will be in better sync with Gordon and GB will be overlooking this one for Rogers return

I presume you haven't taken up anger management classes yet?
It's okay, one day you will wake up and realise hatred and anger is not the way to go through life.
Have a blessed Christmas season.

Sashi had to go. Would love to see them land Dorsey.

Thinking about Sashi some more, anyone remember how incensed we were in the offseason when we were getting killed in the media for how weird the browns were acting with FAs, not adjusting to the market for players/trades for QBs?
Just interesting to think about, wonder if that played into this decision at all.

My buddy loves him, but I’m still skeptical of anyone who signs on with a forced coach. We shall see.

Good hire. He came from a situation where Andy Reid basically ran him off by complaining that he (Reid that is) had no control. I don't see that happening here. Like it or not Hue gets one more year. I do think that if their is not significant improvement Hue is gone after next year.

There's no guarantee Hue Jackson will be the coach in 2018. If these last 4 weeks go really badly. Would it surprise anyone to see Haslam change his mind?
As far as Dorsey goes, I've heard he's a "scout's scout." He rolls up his sleeves and gets in the trenches. He's not necessarily going to "win" press conferences because he's more of a ball cap and hoodie guy than a suit & tie/play the politics type. His resume looks pretty strong.
I will have to give the golf clap to Haslam for seeing this issue and attacking. Instead of waiting out the year, when they'd have competition and likely be the last choice on everyone's list, he went out and grabbed the football guy with the track record.

There are things said to the public for perception and there are internal non public thoughts.
The decision had to be made either way in the hiring of Dorsey that Dorsey agreed with that HueJ is staying or gone.
But, publically, administration needs to give the "vote of confidence". They kept the month long search for the new GM under the radar.

Dorsey agreeing to it may have been made with stipulations. From my understanding, Hue & Dorsey have no previous ties to each other.

He was the director of scouting for the Packers for 10 years and that worked out really well for them.

Oh, I know his track record. He's done well for GB, Holmgren in Seattle and KC. In fact, had he been available back when Holmgren was here, that might not have been as bad of a clusterf#ck that it was.
Not saying this guy is the "savior" but this could be the move that gets them on the right track. This guy has proven/successful experience having DONE this role. Not some scout who got promoted to GM, etc.
They have a crap ton of money, a slew of high draft picks and a GM that is respected enough by free agents that they (Browns) might be able to land a blue chipper or two. If they can get their QB and add a couple of nice FA pieces, they could turn things around (not playoffs but respectable) in a year's time.

Hue Jackson just said that the Browns need to get heated fields so that when they're practicing for the playoffs in the future, they can do so outside

Jesus....sounds like Holmgren's "don't come to me asking for playoff tickets" comment a few years ago. SMDH
How about winning two games and we'll all pitch in for one of those portable hand warmers you can keep in your pocket, Hue?

That is one weird statement. The outside fields they have are nicer than 90% of the golf greens in northern Ohio. The only restriction of the indoor facility is specials teams practice and it's only 60 yards, which should not matter for scrimmage plays.

My take on Jackson's comment was more of a "I'm confident that we're going to make the playoffs soon" than that they actually need heated fields and he wants to play the village groundskeeper.

For what it’s worth, at this time a year ago, Hue told Joe Haden he’d be preparing for the playoffs in a year, which he turned out to be right about.
