So we have a group of us that have been friends since Jr high/high school. We all have kids that are around the same age. So we're still relatively close since now ours kids are in the same classes, same sports team..etc etc...
The two couples that have been together the longest (both couple's started dating in high school) are in the process of getting divorces and are dating each others spouses. The one are already pregnant with a kid on the way and divorces aren't even final. I made a comment to another mutual friend that it's kinda uncomfortable around them right now, He in so many words told me to grow up lol. I dunno.. maybe I am the one that needs to lol ?
Is this normal? Am I the weird one for being uncomfortable in the group presently?

Is everyone cool with what’s going on or is there a lot of drama? If there was constant tension or arguing then I would be uncomfortable, too. But if everyone is okay with the situation then I guess whatever. Good luck to all of them though. It all sounds pretty cringeworthy.

They say everyone's cool with it, but no ones going to same baseball games anymore and school functions... I asked what was up and that's when I found out the story. So if everyone is cool with it, they have a funny way of acting like it.

I would imagine feeling awkward about it too. I don't know any of these people, but if it were friends of mine, in a tight group, going back to school days, I think it'd mess up the group chemistry big time. I see a lot of trouble on the horizon for the four principles.

Not to mention if there are kids involved. Their confusion will be high.

I always assumed if I got divorced I’d want to lay low for a while and not immediately start dating. These couples went the opposite route, especially with the pregnancy. Yikes.

Especially with the pregnancy. So that means all the other kids will be his half-brothers and sisters? You have to name him Oliver, right?

No, you are not. I'd have to walk away from the parties for a while, because I know I'd say something to alienate everyone.
Reminds of Groucho Marx's son Arthur, who became a successful playwright and screenwriter in Hollywood. He married at 22 and had kids, then 20 years later decides he doesn't love his wife, and ends marrying his best friend's spouse. That was scandalous stuff in the early 1960's. But at least they waited until the divorce was final to get married and move in.
I knew two co-workers who were married to each other, then the husband died. My cubicle wife at the time said, "Well, I guess now she can shack up with Charlie" (another co-worker also married), "and he can leave his wife now". I was stunned. She said, "You didn't know they've been having an affair for several years?" I had no idea. I'd been on a few work trips with Charlie and listened to him brag about his wife, thought he had a nice life and marriage.
Went to the first husband's funeral, listened to the eulogies from two other couples who regular partied with the first couple. Not sure why, but I suddenly got the distinct impression all six of them had been swingers, and that everyone else in the world kinda knew except me - and now Charlie is in this mess. I was stunned by both developments. Couldn't speak to either co-worker for a long time. What would I say - "Hey, I'm sorry one of your spouses just croaked and that you'll be dumping the other spouse, and I wish you crazy kids a happy swinging marriage"?

It’s just kinda normal now for everything to be ok and for people to just do whatever they want

Yeah, I’ve heard of open marriages becoming more common.

i doubt kizer is in this group, but my wife's cousin is apparently involved in the same thing. she brought a new guy to easter and i asked my wife what happened to her husband and that's when i was told he knocked up the cousin's best friend and that the guy was the best friends husband.
wild scene man. so unless you're from eastern PA this is a totally separate group doing nearly the same thing. mayber more common than we think but still incredibly awkward.
i should also note that when i lived in louisiana in 2009 a neighbor of mine knocked up the neighbor across the street while his wife was pregnant with (or may had just delivered) twins. some time later (maybe 2 years or so) those couples had swapped partners completely and were both getting married. so that's 2 instances i can think of but one was much slower.
