Got called to be on a jury but the defendant decided to plea bargain about 15 minutes before we were scheduled to start. Got sent home for the day and don't need to check back until tomorrow evening to see if I have to go in on Wednesday.

The next county over has had a rash of people not showing up for jury duty when summoned. One lady who defiantly said she wouldn't be showing up landed her butt in jail for 7 days. 

County Mounties have resorted to issuing summons to random people in retail establishments on the day of. They tried to give me one yesterday at a grocery store but i don't live in that county.

I do not have to report tomorrow.

Send me a summons in the mail I can plan for and I’m good to go. I won’t attempt to get out unless I already have a trip planned for that period.

Hand me a summons while I’m shopping to report that day and I’m gonna resist as much as I can.

Apprehending shoppers is an effective way for the government to press you into service.  Resistance is futile.

Sounds like kidnapping to me.

I just got summoned for next Wednesday. Luckily, for me, my employer has Jury Duty leave so I will be paid and not forced to take any of my personal time.

So is your summons for a single day?

It just listed one day on my piece of mail I received. I am supposed to call the night prior to make sure I am still needed.

I do not have to report tomorrow. I'm gonna end up only going in two days in the two week period.

This was supposed to be a two week thing but just got the message that my jury service is complete. I guess the docket is clear for next week.
