Have you considered motion detector surveillance cameras? They illuminate the area at night and buzz your phone for a small service charge. I recently installed one on my front porch to deter porch pirates and protect my very expensive porch furniture.

There is a video of a black lady crying about her community being destroyed and the rioters/looters heading toward her apartment complex trying to get in before the cops arrived. The video of the chick throwing the molotov cocktail and setting herself on fire looks like at an apartment complex (haven't verified).
Regardless, that wasn't why I made that post. If you have a bunch of unruly people going out creating violence in your neighborhood, you're not going to be able to bank on law enforcement. Hell you can't bank on law enforcement on a normal day and they have proven that many times. You can also argue a small business owner considers their business a second home. especially since it is a big part of his/her family's livelihood. So yeah, when people ask why you would need an AR-15, I think this is a perfect example of why. Ask the Koreans in Koreatown why they needed AR15s and how it worked out for them in 92'.
