Look on the bright side, that 2nd rounder the Jets just got will probably be flipped to acquire Rodgers.

The Lamar Jackson - Ken Francis thing is kind of bizarre. I don’t even understand who it is?
Why didn’t this idiot just hire an agent like everyone else.

He's totally screwed himself by not using an agent as a buffer. I can see it now: Receptionist: "Mr GM, Lamar Jackson is on line 3 for you." GM: "Hang up....it's probably some damn prank caller." If he can't use this Ken Francis guy, he has to call teams directly? So weird.
For Bengals fans, what's the plan here? Jonah Williams to RT? Was Collins that bad last year? Thought that was supposed to be one of their marquee signings?
RUMOR:#Bengals are planning to ‘move on’ from RT La’el Collins after just signing him to a 3 year deal last year, per source.

Saw this mentioned on the Jets forum, apparently an idea from some podcaster I've never heard of.
Rodgers should just show up to the Packers facility and head to the weight room. Packers are on the hook for all that money if he hurts himself. Would probably get the wheels moving on finalizing the trade.

Sirius XM (Pat Kirwan) has been talking about this for a while. He's a former GM. Said that Rodgers at the GB facility would make things very "awkward" and would likely expedite things.
This scenario was brought up last year, with the Browns/Mayfield situation before he was traded.
Local Cleveland sports guy brought up an interesting point in his article this morning.
Very tired of hearing "the Browns ruined the QB salaries for the Ravens and Lamar Jackson" by national guys like Rich Eisen and Trey Wingo along with the Rats Ozzie Newsome and GM Eric Decosta.
The 2018 QB draft, which Lamar Jackson was in, has only had one QB, Josh Allen extended to a long-term contract. Eight months later the Browns traded for Watson and gave him the fully guaranteed contract. The Ravens saw the structure of the Allen contract and could've/ should've gotten something done then. But, like everyone else, they probably wanted another year to see if his play was sustainable and whether he was durable enough. NOT the Browns fault. They passed on their chance to sign him.
Now if the Bengals or Chargers have trouble signing Burrow & Herbert because of Watson's contract, I get their beef but not the Ravens. They had their window to extend Lamar but decided to kick the can down the road and now are using their own screw up to blame Cleveland.
Yeah, I’ve thought about this, too. Watson’s contract isn’t the new standard. It was under unique circumstances. He initially wasn’t interested in the Browns and even all but eliminated them, right? Then they offered the ridiculous contract and he changed his mind.
I’m also tired of hearing how he was MVP like it happened last year. It was 2019. Since then he’s missed the end of multiple seasons/playoffs with injuries which is partially why teams are so reluctant to pursue him.
QB contracts have gotten way out of hand. Let's see how many teams win a SB paying close to 25% of their cap to one player.

Agree. The only team that's been able to do it is KC with Mahomes. Although, the salary cap is going to jump significantly over the next two years.

Burrow and Herbert's contracts will likely dwarf Watson's although they won't be fully guaranteed. I expect Burrow's average to be over $50 mill/year unless he takes some kind of a team friendly dealt to keep the WR's together.
$55K ON THE JAGUARS TO WIN THE AFC SOUTH 😳

So Kentucky QB Will Levis eats bananas with the skin on and puts mayo in his coffee. Does this lower his draft stock? LOL

So I see an article where Rodgers appearance on the Pat McAfee Show where he said he wants to play for the Jets may have slowed this deal from happening. Originally it was believed the Jets were offering a 2023 second rounder and a 2024 first rounder but after Rodgers made those comments the Jets lessened their offer.
Jets were never offering a 1st, no way.
Jalen Hurts re-signs for 5 years, $255 million. Lamar gonna lose his shit.

Well, asking for more hasn't necessarily cost him anything. Yet.
But now he's got a SB-winning QB, who's been better, who just may have reset the market. Now it gets complicated and where does LJ slot relative to Hurts? $45M per year? $160M guaranteed? If an agent would take 5-10% off the top, LJ might actually end-up close to breaking even representing himself.
