posted by Al BundyWe had 2 TD passes dropped on the last drive, but the bigger issue is that stefanski refuses to stick with the running game.
If they keep Stefanski, get used to this. Hence my comment about the domed stadium. Stefanski is pass happy. In fact, with the offense they run, I'll make the bold prediction that Nick Chubb is expendable and could be moved to make room for a RB more like Hunt.
If Stefanski is going to constantly throw it, and Watson doesn't play well in the wind, might as well give him a punchers chance in ideal conditions (dome).
So Stefanski benched Garrett for part of the game because Garrett said stuff about the coaching staff?
Is any of that true or did I botch the pieces together Twitter info?

That’s what I read as well. If true, extremely dumb.
A lot of clickbait out there that the reasoning behind going all in for Watson was to try to lure Sean Payton to Cleveland.
If Stefanski stays, Haslam need to do it under a few circumstances such as: 1) the defensive staff is gone and 2) you give up play calling, hand it off to Van Pelt and just coach the team. If he's not willing to do so, you let him go.
This isn't the 2016-2018 "developmental" Cleveland Browns. This team is supposed to be "ready to win." Heard on the radio that since the Pittsburgh playoff win, Stefanski is something like 17-21. Not good enough.
The thing that's really grinded me about this, since Watson's been back is "where are the RPO's?" Watson only ran the ball 3x's on Saturday and one was a TD. If you feel the need to take Chubb off the field (which is asinine in itself) on 3rd & 2 at least run a freaking read option keeper with Watson. That play was there ALL day and 3rd & short, not getting the 1st when you have a mobile QB, is inexcusable.

My mother in law bought the tickets. She has asthma like lungs from a bad bout of COVID last year so she couldn’t go.
He still wanted to go REALLY bad, so I hit the bullet.

I had a couple friends go up. Sad thing is that I get it: When you have the chance to do something absolutely stupid and crazy that can turn into a good story, at least, you have to do it!
So because Haslam has a woody for his Tennessee Volunteers, he is pushing Stefanski to bring in a specialist to help run the Air Raid type offense.

I was mostly kidding. My best memories were going to games with my dad. I’ve seen some shitty cold Browns football.

That sounds about right. Let's try to find more ways to make the best running back in football useless.

Told you that was the direction this was headed. Stefanski doesn't know how to use him properly anyway. That's why I've been saying "use him like a rented mule while you got him" because these idiots will likely end up trading him in favor of a 3 down back like Hunt. Still think Chubb could be a 3 down back if they'd just try to use him that way more.
Just like the Browns had a great record in one score games in 2020, this year has been the exact opposite. If you play the "what if" game this season could have been something. With some additions on defense, a new D-Coordinator and (hopefully) Watson getting up to speed, maybe they can swing some of these games in 2023?
What jumps out on this is the Vikings. Yikes! Could see them being a one and done playoff team.

Carson Wentz to start for Washington on Sunday so I fully expect him to have a career day. This team has a history of letting ham & egger shit bags (Bailey Zappe, Kyle Allen, Duck Hodges, etc) look like 1st ballot HOFer's.
Hopefully the second half of today's game kickstarts Watson and the offense. What I don't think a lot of people are realizing is that Watson came in and has been playing Jacoby Brissett's offense and they are slowing adding more of the RPO stuff. With that, the O-Line has looked like dog shit in pass pro because of a mobile QB. This has also made the WR's look bad in that they aren't trying to extend their routes with Watson's elusiveness. With an offseason of strictly Watson running this offense they should be good to go.
I think this is the first time since he's been the head coach that Stefanski has actually made very strong halftime adjustments.
I'm also hoping that the recent showings by the defense haven't saved Joe Woods' job in that they've been very efficient with the takeaways.
Game ball, for me, goes to Grant Delpit. Dude has been getting bagged on for much of the season but has come on as a disruptive force as of late.
Shitty part of all this is, even with the 1% chance they had last week, had they beaten the Saints with the way things played out they'd probably have had a solid chance to make the playoffs at 9-8 if they were to beat Pittsburgh next week.
They still need 2 DT's, another edge, a WR who can stretch the field and probably at least a tackle....maybe another safety/LB.
What a second half.
I know it's a 17 game season versus the old 12-14 game format, but if Chubb rushes for 97 yards against Pittsburgh he will have the #2 highest rushing yards for a Brown in a season. He's got a way to go to catch Jim Brown's 1800+ yard season.

I wonder what Mack or Byner would’ve gotten to without the other
Edit: probably not a huge number more. Both went 1000+ in 1985 and Byner had some in his upper 20’s without Mack. I’d guess maybe 1400 yards in 1985 without the other.

I wonder what Chubb would get if he was used properly? He averaged 7.4 ypc against Washington.
People may argue but I think he could be a 3 down back. He has solid hands.
Also, same could be said for Harris/Bleier or the Miami duo.
