Thoughts after the game were that this defense looks like it could be lights out by the time they get to the Chargers game. They have 3 more games, against some mediocre offenses, to build their confidence. Couple of boneheaded gaffes allowed this to be MUCH closer than it should be.
With upcoming games, it's feasible that Garrett could be at 9-10 sacks by the Chargers game and it's not looking like he's going to have competition from TJ Watt this year (tough break).
Brissett is still "meh." DPJ stepped up a bit and Schwartz shockingly caught a ball thrown to him. Would've liked to have seen more Bryant/Njoku (TE's) get involved.
Chubb is still a beast. Hunt compliments him well and FINALLY Stefanski did what I've been wanting for two years, both of them in the backfield at the same time. I'm not sure they are going to be able to do this to every team (rush for 200+ yards) but it would be nice.
Tip of the cap to James Hudson & Ethan Pocic who did admirably on the O-Line.
Today was a snapshot of why they moved on from Mayfield. Outside of two long plays he was horrible. Still poor footwork, getting passes down and wild high with his passes.
Nothing more needs to be said about Cade York. #stud
Bonus ad: Jim Donovan's the effin' man. If you haven't heard his call on York's game winner, it's Tom Hamilton-esque.
Good to FINALLY be 1-0 going into the home opener with the Joe Flacco-led Jets.
Browns rookie kicker taking the Bengals rookie kicker’s stuff from last year? Browns steal the Bengals’ karma as well?
Good win

Good win
It's funny you mention this, York was actually higher rated than McPherson when they were in college.
I may take a TON of heat from the Bengals fans but I thought they were more lucky than good last year. Tannehill shits his pants in the playoffs and the Chiefs decide to quit at halftime 2x's in the same season against them. McPherson was their savior.
They are a very good team but my prediction before the season that their O-Line "fix" was more like plugging the dike with your pinky because those interior guys they picked up are average.
I’ll paste the call here. Defense was good minus complete meltdowns which should be better. Brisset missed a ton of guys, good news is receivers were getting open. Wouldn’t have been so close with a real qb. On to the Jets.
Great kicking and Nick Chubb is a beast. Aside from the busted secondary play that led to the long TD, defense was solid. Great opening win for the Brownies.
York's 58 yarder was the longest in NFL history by a rookie in his team's first game of the season.
The most Browns game ever, until it wasn’t. Everyone outside Cleveland can kindly STFU now about the off-season handling of Baker. He was what we needed for a brief time, and that’s it. He is not good and just lost to “The Browns” led by Jacoby Brissett…
A win on the road is always a good thing, but we still have a lot of things to work on. I found the play calling puzzling at times. Just keep pounding with the run until they stop it since it is a struggle to pass for more than a few yards. Hunt only finished with 11 carries. Felton looks lost fielding punts. Just put someone back there who can field it cleanly since we don't have a gamebreaker return guy on the team. Luckily, we play another bad team next week, so hopefully, we keep improving.

That thing looked good from 75 lol
There can’t be any way Dobbs is worse the Brisset. Maybe Jacoby is a better game manager, but he is god awful at seeing the field.
Yesterday was the first day ever that the Browns were able to tweet “1-0” as Twitter was founded in 2006, and their last week 1 win was 2004…

Stefanski should have packages to put Dobbs on the field. Mayfield was bad but Brissett was worse. Jacoby left a ton of points on the field missing Cooper & Hunt for long TD passes. Was also very fortunate they got that PI on that wounded duck bomb he threw that set up their first TD.

Did they say 1994 was their last opening win on the road too?

If they get into the right situation (end of half) I think Justin Tucker's NFL record could be in jeopardy.
Hell, it looks like every kicker in the division has steroid leg. Boswell would've been good from 65 on that FG he doinked off the upright in OT.

He's pretty much Tyrod Taylor 2.0.

He's gotta be worse than Tyrod lol. But yeah... they're both just game managers. Brissett is horrible though.
Twist of fate.............coming down the stretch two "calls" actually FAVORED the Browns. That's different.
They were definitely thinking about a fake spike.

Lord that thing was dancing….how the heck?
I feel like every AFC North kicker has a good chance making a 60, all but Boswell a fighter’s chance at 65 and Bengals and Browns guy from 70+….not sure if Tucker still has that kind of boot but if he can kick it 66 yards, I expect it to be good off of his foot.
Kickers can mash
