Ok....Around The Horn just spent 5 minutes talking about Condeleezza Rice being a coach.

Arent the Browns just trolling the rule?

Supposedly the Browns already came out and denied the report, but I didn’t see anything official. I’m leaning more towards the conspiracy that Dorsey was trying to flush out any leaks in the org. Who knows

She's also declined the thought of her interviewing. She did say she'd like to call a play or two and said she'd "never run a prevent defense."

Haslam isn’t going to be involved in this hire. Just relax

Based on literally nothing. Dumb comment.

Damn, COA....you're up early. Aren't you on the West Coast?

And I don't know how anyone can say, with confidence, that Haslam isn't going to be involved with this hire. That's my biggest fear. After seeing the talent Dorsey put on that field last night, the last thing I want is for Haslam to try to pull a power play, piss off Dorsey, and then we're stuck with another Ray Farmer, as fans.

Back home in Ohio actually for Thanksgiving. My sleep is all fucked up, slept on the plane, then fell asleep right the MNF game. Woke up at about 4:45 this morning, wide awake. Going to power through today with coffee.

As for coaching search, I want haslam as far away from it as possible, he does nothing but bungal everything he touches. That said, I have no reason to believe he'll do that. He's proven the exact opposite time and time again. Hell, I want the HC to report to Dorsey and stop this nonsense of everyone reporting to him. He helped create the power struggle for god's sake. Hope he learns from that, but I doubt it.

I think he has learned from that, and I also think he realizes Dorsey is very good and doesn’t have to “babysit” like he had to do with previous terrible GMs. Which is why I am saying he will let Dorsey pick this HC.

I figured you might be back for the holiday.

I hope S&L's belief on this one is right because this is where they "can't miss." I think that Dorsey really wanted Nagy but Haslam forced dumbass on him. I just hope that Dorsey goes with an offensive minded coach. I think Dave Toub from the Chiefs could be on his radar but not so sure I'd be thrilled with a special teams coach/assistant HC taking the reigns.

Not a Toub fan, too old. I'm a John DeFilippo guy, but wouldn't QQ over Pete Carmichael (the Saints OC) either.

I lean toward Haslam not being involved.  I think Dorsey won that battle when he got his wish to fire both Hue and  Haley.

you would hope the Haslems have learned they can trust Dorsey and keep their hands off, but I'm not sure they have it in them.

There's a job coming open in a couple of years I'd rather see her try for.

I don't think you'll ever see her run for office. She's too smart for that.

I will say, love these guys' optimism & swagger. Pretty unrealistic but some of them think they are going to win out. Sounds like Terrence Mitchell could be back this week so that will bolster the secondary even more.

I might be in the minority and missing a couple other journalists, but Pluto imo is the PD's best and only journalist worth a damn.

You're not wrong. Any of the other good ones have left for The Athletic or ESPN.
