Or a thinker in general

The local station is at camp and they had Bitonio on yesterday asking him everything from the camp to what movies he's seen recently and he did say that it seems like Hue has improved. Said he doesn't have to focus on what play to call next and has been telling position groups "you need to tweak this" etc, so hopefully he will improve with the play calling duties gone but I'm not betting on it.

Good point. I don't get the feeling Hue is much of a "strategic" thinker.

I don't think he expected to be back.

I had this discussion with a friend a few days ago.  Even if Baker was outperforming Tyrod (i.e. pulling off a Russell Wilson his rookie year vs Matt Flynn), I would have 0 confidence in Hue making the move.  He would either A. not realize Baker is already the better option or/and B. he would be too much of a puss to pull the trigger.

Yeah, I know and TT's a nice security blanket to have but I'd rather they just let er rip with Baker right out of the gate. I did see where he finally threw his first pick of training camp.

Could be worse, could be Patrick Mahomes who has been an interception machine in KC. Has to be a culture shock for Chiefs fans as Alex Smith hardly threw any, but again....training camp.

I am not really a big believer in mental reps, however I will say having someone like Tyrod in camp is good for Baker.  Somebody for him to respect at least.  Can you imagine if he came into camp with Kizer and Kessler rounding out the QB depth chart?

Haha agreed. Wish McCown was around for his leadership. I'm fine with starting Tyrod for a couple games, but if he looks like shit and Baker is ready, start him.

Whatever network has Cowher & Mangini on it was discussing when Mayfield would start. Cowher said "likely by week 6" and Mangini said "no way they wait that long....much sooner."

We all might as well mentally prepare ourselves for Hue to start him at least 2 weeks later than he should.

Also, this is a nice training camp highlight.  https://twitter.com/Browns/status/1025146789089894400

If Baker is out performing tyrod, you start him period, if they are even I would start tyrod and then go to baker a few games in if tyrod isn’t performing

Can't remember which guy they were interviewing on the local station from camp but his comments regarding Landry were "ridiculous." Said he makes some freakish catches.

Great....

Gordon may not be entirely out of the woods just yet. According to Breer, as a result of being on the 'Did Not Report' list, Gordon must apply for reinstatement through NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. The Pro Bowl talent is familiar with the application process a this point.

We know what tyrod is. If you start tyrod, might as well stick with him all year and go 7-9. Or you go with Baker day one and let him take his beatings year 1.

I don’t agree with playing TT Until he has a few bad games and then going to baker. That’s not a healthy situation.

Even if Baker plays lights out in preseason I still think Hue goes the safe route and starts TT. As fans, we're like "put Baker out there" while, as a coach. Hue's probably thinking "I dodged a bullet last year, gotta get some wins to save my neck...I'll go with the track record."

If it comes down to that, Goodell isn't going to deny reinstatement, because a guy took it upon himself to take care of himself.

Exactly. Goodell knows what’s going on so I’m sure he would be reinstated almost immediately

He's a giant POS. I wouldn't put anything past his petty fucking ass.
