Watched Shimmer Lake last night on Netflix.
Pumped [not really] for Godzilla vs. Kong.
But even in a version where Kong is roughly the same size, I don't see how Godzilla wouldn't kill him in about 30 seconds.
Although Kong does bring the ground-and-pound pretty strong.
Kong is intelligent, he wins. He made a shield to deflect the fire!
Anyway, pumped for The Little Things. Probably catch it tomorrow night.
White Tiger 9/10
Social Network, which was a rewatch and all time favorite: 10/10
Catch Me If You Can: 8.5/10

Why did the villagers on Kong's island make a door in their wall big enough for Kong fit through?

I watched it last night.
8/10. Really good 90s crime thriller. Jared Leto is creepy as hell.
Finally caught Tenet over the weekend. I think I understood everything that went on. One of the most confusing movies for sure. But, 8/10 for visually how cool it looked.
Donnie Brasco. Hadn't seen in it a lot of years. I think it may be aging better than Goodfellas which I always compared it to. In fact, it may be slightly better than Goodfellas.
Best Mafia Movies.
1. Godfather
2. Godfather 2
3. Donnie Brasco
4. Goodfellas
5. Black Mass
6. Departed
7. Miller's Crossing
8. Kill the Irishman
9. Eastern Promises
10. A Bronx Tale
Peanut Butter Falcon (cause I saw it on here). Great movie for anyone.
Home Sweet Home
Totally mediocre (at best; probably "totally shitty" would be more accurate to most) early 80s slasher that's totally redeemed by how the killer is played by fitness infomercial dude Body By Jake and his completely legit acting ability which solely consisted of making goofy faces and laughing constantly. That's the sort of stuff I live for!
The mountain between us.
Actually a pretty good movie. It has idiris Elba and Kate wins let
The Little Things. I liked it.
High Noon. Great movie.
Mortal Kombat. 7/10. Entertaining and for fans of the game there is enough gore/ fatalities to satisfy. Also makes fun of the game on multiple occasions. I'd watch it again.
I've been recently getting into the Italian giallo genre. They were mainly a thing from the mid-60s to mid-late 80s, with the early-mid 70s being when they were most prominent. Had mystery elements that were inspired by Agatha Christie or Hitchcock, but with the focus on stalking-n-killing that became an inspiration for the 80s slashers like Friday the 13th or Halloween. And since they're Italian, you also have plots that don't necessarily make sense, as well as a fair bit of sleazy sexuality -- to the degree that a few films have cuts where legit porn scenes were inserted into the movie.
I'd watched Mario Bava's Bay of Blood/Twitch of the Death Nerve a few years ago because I'd read that Friday the 13th II had openly stolen a couple of its kills, but just recently watched his Blood and Black Lace, which was good enough to make me dive down this hole. The direction in a lot of the films is just amazing. Beautiful settings with great camera work that both shows off the scenery and also builds suspense. Ennio Morricone (most known for his work on Clint's spaghetti westerns) does soundtracks for a lot of them. Just great stuff.
Mortal Kombat. 8/10. Very much enjoyed this reboot, as the sequels from the original movie almost killed the franchise. Explained stuff well, and the fight scenes were non-stop and awesome. Scorpion remains the absolute best. Biggest complaint is his relatively small role.
Sequel is obviously upcoming.
What character was Cole? I enjoyed Mortal Kombat, as I just picked up MK11 Ultimate for PS4. Very nostalgic.

Tenet, to me, is a lot like Inception. You can NOT be distracted at all or you miss a lot. Also, watching it a 2nd time you catch a LOT.
I thought it was very underrated, probably since it came out in theatres only at first during COVID. I liked it a lot, definitely 8 or 9/10.

Agreed, definitely 8.5/10 or better.
