One of my favorite movies.  Love the cast and the writing.

I've been watching nothing but kids movies since my daughter has been old enough to start enjoying them, but I do have to say that I think Secret Life of Pets is enjoyable.

Agreed, that was a good one.

My youngest is now 12, so won't be watching nearly as many "kids" movies anymore. They are all 3 17-12 range, so mostly Marvel/DC movies now.

Unplanned-I am sure if anyone really wants to discuss this movie it will have to be on the Politics forum. However, movie alone...

8/10, and only lost 2 points because they had to use 2nd/3rd tier actors. They "get you hooked" in the first scene and carry the emotion throughout the movie.

I had more typed but realized it should have probably been in the politics forum...I will start a thread there.

Got around to watching City of God a couple nights ago. 10/10. I'll have to see how it holds up on future watches, but my spur-of-the-moment verdict is that it was one of the more awesome movies I've seen in a long time. Hell, the fact that it has subtitles didn't even bother me and I figured that would be a big detriment to my enjoyment.

Just watched Kill Bill 2 again...and Kill Bill 1 is playing now. Don't think I'l make it through it. I just don't go to movies. Only watch what is playing on TV.

Venom: 5/10. Half entertaining, half mess. Tom Hardy was alright in it, but I laughed at most of the dialogue.

Polar: 7/10. A poor man's John Wick. I enjoyed it a lot, but it did not stick the landing.

I agree about Venom, you could tell it was done by Fox and not Marvel/Disney, the overall quality just wasn't there. I did think Hardy did a good job, but overall I also put it in the 5 or 6/10 range.

My beef with it was that the primeval villain was fully recognized too late and dispatched too quickly.  There was so little build to it.  Annoyed the hell out of me.

Just watched How To Train Your Dragon again with the little one last night.

That's actually a pretty fun movie.  I might watch that without a kid, even.  Plus, Toothless' personality reminds me a lot of one of the dogs we had to have put down this last year, so it got me in the feelz.

8/10

Couldn’t choose between Us, Pet Semetary, and Shazam tonight. Ended up going with Us and not sure it was the right call. Gave it a 6/10.

Taking daughter to see Dumbo tomorrow.

It was okay. 7/10.

Saw a preview for Toy Story 4 and couldn't be less interested in it. Whoever the main character kid is creates a new "toy" at school (it's a fork with eyes) and the fork runs away and Woody tries to chase it but gets lost or abducted by other toys so Buzz and the rest of the gang have to rescue him. From the looks of the trailer, I saw this movie already. It was called Toy Story 3.
