Unless Gallagher goes on the DL for that sore thumb.

Welp, there's the kiss of death for your offense in that game!

So apparently not even letting Bo start game 2.  Make it make sense.

So in this DH the Indians are facing 2 starting pitchers that total 449 career wins and 6432 career strikeouts. Gotta be a record and also they are 1 and 2 in active strikeouts….almost exactly the same total. 3213 and 3219

Combined 6 Cy Young Awards and 15x top 5

And, Hammy said that Cleveland is the team that Verlander has faced the most in his career with 50 some starts and, amazingly, a 22 - 24 record.

Edit: make that 23 - 24 now.

And, wow, Bieber gets the rare 8 inning complete game.

I don’t think there is an obvious fix here. But to keep playing guys who will not be on the roster next year, and have little to no upside even if they turned it around, is definitely dumb. Tito needs to switch it up or the FO needs to step in.

Amed and Zunino are not going to be with Cleveland next year, and they aren’t good enough to keep playing. This isn’t Jose struggling, or Kwan, etc. Those guys shouldn’t be replaced. But Naylor and someone (Rocchio, Arias, Freeman) needs to be given the C/SS position full time. Valera probably should be given RF at some point also.

And Bieber should be swapped asap for the biggest haul we can get. Tack on on of the MI prospects to sweeten it and get a legit bat here.

I heard that it was the first time that both pitchers of a doubleheader had 3 or more Cy Young Awards.

I would guess that the most combined wins of starting pitchers in a doubleheader is Cy Young and somebody.

realistically since this isn't our year, do we have anything on the horizon to look forward to?

This team is loaded. They should be best in division for the next 5 years. They just have to make the moves to get there.

#1. Trade Bieber and a MI prospect for Major League ready power who is young and controllable.

#2. Go 6 man rotation of Sticks/Bibee/Allen/Williams/Cal/Civale. That gives our 4 young studs experience and keeps innings down.

#3. Pick the future. All indications are Valera at RF or CF, Arias at RF or 1B and Rocchio at SS. No is obviously C. Trade Amed and anyone else not in the future plans for depth and prospects. Then play these kids all year. We have a massive logjam they need to sort out, and while it’s hard to do generally — it’s impossible by playing the guys without a future and blocking playing time.

#3. Extend the core group who you see Sticking around and are approaching arbitration. Kwan, Sticks…that’s about it. Clase maybe?? Jose and Gimenez are locked up and so is Stephan. The rest are under team control for a while.

Honestly, these moves will HELP this years team. There is no reason to think they will get worse. Front Office failed keeping Amed when he was at his highest point this summer, they need to cut bait with him now. Same with Bieber who is declining at an insane pace. Get the most for them both. Bieber should fetch a haul if you don’t wait.

Move Bieber now. All his metrics and peripherals are saying his dominance is over. He has always gotten hit hard, but some of the other numbers are alarming now.  You have got Bibee, Allen, and Williams all ready to go.

Hoping there's a front office/organization out there that will take a risk on him.

Time to get another legit power bat to go with Jose Ramirez (not a Josh Bell or Franmil Reyes). A legit 30 HR/100 RBI, .265 + batting average. I know those don't grow on tree's but trade Bieber with Rocchio or Angel Martinez and you can probably get something solid in return.

Allen was awesome, and a shit line in the end. Cannot let a rookie in the 7th let 5 men reach without a mound visit.

Anyway, I’m feeling a Kwan walkoff. Or Freeman if he pinch hits for Zunino.
