RetroRick is a great collector YouTube channel.
"Nintendo Quest" was a really good documentary about a guy getting the entire NES collection

Nice! His video yesterday was great, breaking down his store's sales for the year. He has a nice following but to do over a million in sales from a retro game store is super impressive.
Wow, I haven't watched that one yet. Probably pays to have such a large online following. I would detour a few hours to check out Game Point if I was traveling that way.
I've bought a STACK of NES games over the last two days.
Highlights:
Kirby's Adventure
Dr Mario
Tecmo Bowl
Super Tecmo Bowl (complete with box, manual, and other inserts)
TMNT 3: Manhattan Project
Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse (with manual)
Adventures of Lolo (with manual)
Several $2-3 baseball, football, and golf games.

What’s your go to source for Roms? Googling and Reddit researching now and it’s rather overwhelming.
I’m setting up Openemu on the Mac Mini tonight.
posted by gutLoved that game. I was terrible, but will be my first purchase for my game room if and when I finally buy a new place.
There’s a pretty cheap cabinet at Costco curre
I think it was the original tmnt that was probably the hardest game to complete that I’ve ever played

The sound of the low health alarm still haunts my dreams.
Bayou Billy is the hardest NES game of all-time.
I like retrorick on youtube but for whatever reason my favorite is Angry Video Game Nerd (used to be Angry Nintendo Nerd).
I still have a working NES and SNES, every once in awhile I pop in Zelda, Metroid, Zelda: A Link to the Past, or Super Metroid.
The original Dragon Warrior too just more for nastalgia, it wasn't an amazing game, just played it a lot with my now deceased uncle.
Picked up a few more today.
Cobra Triangle (NES)
Marble Madness (NES)
Desert Strike (Genesis)
Madden 95 (Genesis)

I like AVN but it can get a little cringy at times.
I do not like his theme
Desert Strike was one of the games a friend had when I was in college. I had some fun with it.posted by justincredible

I had Jungle Strike. Still need to add Urban Strike. They are fun games I remember playing as a kid, but I think they were on SNES.

agreed. his early content (before 2010) is far superior.
it strikes me as a project that ran its course... but it makes him money so he continues to put them out.
i remember reading something several years ago that basically aluded to a friend of his writing most of the scripts for him. that made sense to me.
the original videos were clearly not that. it was just him messing around.
theme song has always sucked, though.
He’d rather have
A Buffalo

Shut up

Yeah, think Desert was on both and those two were just on the SNES. Then, I believe there were 1-2 more that were on the first PlayStation. Never played them, but seem to recall reading about them somewhere.
