That's the shitty part of it, isn't it? We need BMG and Columbia to get back in business with their Get 12 For $1 and Then Buy 6 Over 2 Years deals because that's how I built my collection when I was growing up.

we all did that.  Especially when you had to update all the vinyl and tapes to CD in the early 90's

Seeing Quaker's photo of the Lynyrd Skynyrd Gold album, I think that was one of my 6 or 8 choices when I joined Columbia in 1979.  Agreed, it was a killer deal as long as you were timely in mailing the monthly decline letter for the duration.

Dr. O'Boogie's "Goofy Gold" - great stuff.  My sons heard my Weird Al LP's and CDs when they were 10.  Then they discovered Dr. Demento at the library, and they were singing "Stress" by Jim's Big Ego all day long.

Nice list, I'm happy you have quite the collection of Shooter Jennings.

My wife got me an early press of Red Headed Stranger and Bat out of Hell for Christmas. I would recommend both for your collection. I would also suggest Songs in the Key of Life.

Edit: I see Red Headed Stranger is on your want list.

I found a sealed 1979 repress of Red Headed Stranger at Half Price Books this weekend for $20 so I grabbed it.

Finally snagged a playable copy of Steely Dan Aja at a decent price. I’ve been hunting for a while.

Also spent a bunch this week with an antique/record shop that sells thru facebook live 3-4 days per week. They have $5 unlimited shipping for the week, so anything you buy from any of the shows that week all ship together for one price. This was my first time buying from them, we’ll see how everything looks when it’s delivered. I got 3 sealed and, I think, 5 vintage. One was the new Megadeth live album that they discounted heavily because they ordered way too many and they weren’t selling. Only $25 for a triple vinyl that retailed for $40ish. Also snagged a Tyler Childers Purgatory, Pearl Jam Yield, a couple Frankie Valli for my wife, a Willie, a George Jones, and an Elvis.

I’m pretty sure I have a record buying addiction. It’s better than meth, I guess. Probably more expensive, though.

Just picked up the latest Pink Floyd Piper at the Gates of Dawn MONO reissue and it is incredible. This was probably my favorite album in high school and it's like I'm hearing it for the first time.

I've picked up a bunch of stuff recently. The in-laws let me go through their collection again and I snagged 25 albums in decent to great shape.

My best pickup has been a yellow translucent vinyl Canadian pressing of Steely Dan's Greatest Hits.

Anyone else use discogs for managing their collection? If not, you should. If you do, check out this app I put together over the past week.

If you replace my username with your username in the url it will give you your collection scoreboard.
