Yeah, even better. Deon doesn't believe in the dunk anymore.

Which is sad because that's all he did last year with Hansbrough.

And yes that is a foul.

Yeah, I think Graves definitely hit his leg.

Lucky break for Carolina.

Carolina vs. Dayton for the NIT Championship on Thursday at 7.

I'll pick up the slack in your absence, wildcats.

Yeah, that may have had something to do with it. Tough call to make, I guess, especially since it was a bad angle for the official over there.

I'll morph into Prescott for a minute:

"The officials wanted Carolina to win this game" or
"The NIT committee paved Carolina's way to the final" ;)

Just kidding. Good luck in the finals UNC, just glad it's not the finals of the NCAA! :)

Interesting side note.

By advancing to the championship game, Deon Thompson will break the NCAA record for games played (152), previously held by Kentucky's Wayne Turner and Florida's Walter Hodge.

Graves got pushed from behind by A URI player. It should have been a foul on the Rams.

What??? No he didnt.

Anyways, I would never expect that call to be made. I was thrilled that UNC was able to pull it out. Made me some money.

I think my boys from Dayton will take them Thursday night. UNC didn't look very good tonight and they sucked at the foul line.

UNC was really frustrating me, especially late in the 2nd half when they went up 5 to down 3 in the blink of an eye.

The team is playing MUCH better, but some of the dumb mistakes still pops up too often.

Larry Drew II and Dexter Strickland are really turning into fine players though. Will Graves has some great potential, but he needs to play within himself and stop trying to force the issue.

Tyler Zeller really stepped up in the OT, just as Larry Drew II stepped up late in the 2nd to send the game into Ot (though, he should have drove on that last possession to put pressure on the defense.)

I'm glad we won, but I'm not exactly happy with how we played.

Also, Marcus Ginyard. I love the guy for what he's done and what he's been through while at UNC, but I cringe every time he touches the ball. He almost had TWO costly turnovers in this game. He can't dribble and he can't shoot to well either. He used to be a great defender, but I think the injuries have slowed him down a bit.

I really want UNC to win on Thursday. I dunno, while watching this game I was treating it like a freaking tournament game, even getting pissed off when we lost the lead and equally pumped when we tied the game.

With that said, we are lucky! That should have been a foul on Graves at the end. I honestly thought he fell on his own during the scramble, but the replay showed Graves reaching out and the Rhode Island player tripping over his hand.

I'll take it though :)

Watch it again. Number 1 elbows him the back.

Larry Drew II has officially gone on the record as saying that he will be at Carolina next year. Many Carolina insiders believed (and some still do, despite Drew's latest quote) that he was definitely gone, but it appears that he will be staying in Chapel Hill.

The Carolina staff has been showing a lot of interest in uncommitted PGs recently, as well as a JUCO player, but that may be due to other potential departures. Ed Davis is still likely headed to the NBA, and a Watts/McDonald transfer is still a possibility from what I hear. Anyway, I think it's good news that Larry will be back.

I''m VERY happy to hear that Larry Drew II will be back. I've really come to love this kid at PG. He's become so smooth with the ball and has a knack for getting to the hoop.

I'm very excited about next years squad.

Well this is probably good news for Duke fans if true.

But what was he going to say? "Yes, as soon as the NIT Tournament is over I will be relocating to another school. Probably Pepperdine."

We shall see.

Yeah, having only one PG on the Carolina roster (unless Roy pulled a rabbit out of a hat) wouldn't have been better for Duke than Drew II returning. One year of success and Duke fans everywhere start getting a big head.

I suppose Drew could be lying, but I would think he would be a little less direct than "I'll be a Tar Heel" if he was still thinking about leaving. We shall see, indeed.

Duke fans have had more than one year of success recently. Let's get real.

Nine ACC titles, three Final Fours, one national title and more wins than anyone since 1999. Last year, Duke won 30 games. This year, they've won 33 and are playing basketball in April.

And I agree. After the NIT is over, we'll have a better idea of where Drew stands.
