Played on the Salem team that went to state in 2004.
Played a West Liberty in college and was a starter.
Got her first job last year as the JV coach at Fitch.
Great hire.

I meant coaching experience - I know where and when she played and her one year as a JV coach - Does not equate to coaching experience.

You said what is the experience, I gave you the experience. If you knew that, then why did you ask the question? What is your point here?
Before you make yourself look like a fool, remember, there was a time for EVERY coach when they got hired with little to no experience.

Not begrudging any coach a start - just questioning the experience - the postings for head coaching jobs in Salem are very detailed in experience required. Not sure if the boys program would have accepted a candidate with one year of JV coaching experience - wondering why we would with the girls program. Just an open forum question - sorry I didn't make myself clear in the first post - hoping the success for the girls program continues under her guidance - just looking at the experience end of it knowing what comes with a head coaching job...

Because experience isn't everything, the girls program is very prestigious, not a job they just hand to someone. Experience is only part of the equation, I'd say if they felt that she filled the other qualifications in overwhelming fashion (which is clearly the case) then everyone should be thrilled about the choice. Not often can you get a job of that caliber without experience, if you do, you might show the people in that community the beginning of a very promising coaching career. Like I said, it's not a job that is just handed out.
Renee will do a great job.

Keep in mind the applicant pool didn't exactly set the world on fire.
It's a good job, but in the end it's still Girl's Basketball... it's only going to draw so much interest from outside. Salem has been lucky to have experienced people in the district who wanted it for the past few go-arounds.

It may be just girls basketball, but you ts know as well as anyone how big that program is in the community. It's a pretty high profile job for the sport.

There are only so many Pavlansky's and Zeigler's to go around, though, as evident in the applicants.
There aren't many elite, long-term girls coaches. After those names the lists do drop off pretty quick.
