I saw this coming a week ago. I think Clark would fit nicely in Salem. He works his kids hard and seems to have a great knowledge of basketball. Any other rumored candidates? I would believe Clark is the top choice as of right now.

Would make sense, I doubt they'd get a more impressive resume than his.

The process needs to run its course, and the gathering of many qualified applicant's resumes is important. No one should be a frontrunner until a complete search and bona-fide process of due diligence has occurred.

If you are going to build (from junior high up) and maintain a program, you will need someone special.

Go Quakers !!

The application deadline (for both positions) is next Monday, if I saw correctly.

It's never been consistent which was a big mistake in the past. The program (with its sets, drills ect.) needs to be taught from the junior high level up...maybe even back into 5th and 6th grade. Other than Todd Huda for a few years, there hasn't really been a consistent every-year coach in those levels. This needs to be addressed. It doesn't necessarily need to be experienced coach, but someone that can initiate the wants of the new head coach and his staff.

There used to be consistency. But they either sucked or got dicked around by the administration.

We should have something pretty concrete here in terms of candidates soon. The application deadline was yesterday.

Ive seen the list, some pretty interesting names. What will be interesting is how many get eliminated because of there being no teaching position available

Surprised that 30+ applied if there is in fact no teaching job tied to it... maybe they are hoping something becomes available teaching-wise by August?

If they need to find a teaching position they will. That shouldn't be a problem

There may another person out there that applied, a name that I have not heard or seen elsewhere. If it is true we could be incredibly fortunate.

I did hear of a Federal League coach who may be available and has ties to the area. This is not confirmed but would be as you say "incredibly fortunate" for Salem.Would not tie up a teaching position

Quaker Oats and Irishbuck, the names listed in the area are the ones that applied. All submitted applications and all names were turned over to the newspaper and there was a coach with the credentials you spoke of, he wouldve been on the list.

Remember this Cards the media does not always print everything you want to hear or what they are asked not to print by "accidental" omission.I would like to know who chose this list of candidates to be published and why the others were not published.Cards read between the lines a little. As I previously mentioned my info was completely unconfirmed but possible

I can't speak to that; nor would I want to.

All I know is if the person I have heard of applied for the job, then we should have an excellent coach.

Irish, trust me on this one, if the name your referring to did indeed apply, his resume was kept separate from all the others and not given to the media. Any candidate with credentials like you mentioned, was included in the article. There was no "accidental" omissions asked for

Still haven't answered the questions nor did you pay attention to last post.Everything is not black and white.Although you may be accurate about keeping resume seperate. This has been done in past, and I am not refering to any Salem positions.High profile coaches want to be low profile until a decision is made.
