He won't take it, not his style.

He'll be at MSU until he retires.

That's almost as funny as St. John's offering Billy Donovan...

lo...Izzo isn't going anywhere and will probably just laugh at this offer. He isn't about money. He is all MSU. He will retire from MSU.

Can't say I blame Oregon and Phil Knight for their ambition, but this would be as big of a shock as any in the coaching industry.

Izzo was born and raised in Michigan also. I too doubt he will leave his home state and travel all the way across the country for money. Then again you never know.

I'd say its going to take a mega contract to pull Izzo from MSU. Something in the ranks of 8-9 million a year so at least MSU would be like "He'd be stupid not to take that".

Money sometimes is a great motivator. I don't expect Izzo to leave, but it wouldn't shock or surprise me.

Why would Izzo leave Michigan St for Oregon (I know, money obviously)

I have to think that even though Oregon could make it tough by throwing alot of cash at him, Michigan St will be able to come up with a nice raise for him to entice him to stay

Izzo has also made a living by just getting the top talent in Michigan. He would have to delve into California every year to do that. Right now, he just knows he is going to get 1 or 2 four star players who will be there at least 3 years, and he knows he has that every year. Oregon has a great player every once in awhile.

The fact that he has lived in Michigan his whole life just adds to the fact that he wont be leaving.

If Oregon was really serious about this why in the hell would they announce it now and cause a distractio for Izzo? Kinda like the whole Les Miles and Michigan thing, if you really want a guy how about not fucking with him the week he is getting ready for the Final Four.

Thats what I thought. I kind of think they're just trying to get some pub so someone more reasonable might see them as big time.

That would be kind of nice if he left. That way Michigan could get 3-star kids instead of 2-star kids....lol

That's how I feel. Right now, Michigan State is an ELITE program in college basketball. He is a deity there and is in HIS state. Him going to Oregon would be like Tressel leaving the Bucks to coach at Stanford.

Ha ha...now Oregon folks supposedly offered Tubby Smith the job and called the Izzo report, "grossly inaccurate". So, was the report completely fabricated or did they feel stupid about even thinking about it?
