I live in pittsburgh and grew up watching the wpial teams, but for sheer atmosphere, good solid football, and excitement, you cant beat Steubenville. As an outsider,I have been treated well by many big red fans. I was at a game 2 years ago,and I would have never been able to get into the game, and somebody gave me a ticket. I sit on the visitors side with a great group of big red supporters, and they are very polite to the visiting fans. One thing you cannot argue with is that the tradition is outstanding, and I look forward to another great season. I feel that reno is one of the finest high school coaches in the country, his record speaks for itself. the people around western pa. talk about some longtime coaches, but their records are not that great, they have just been around for 20 years. I agree!!!It is hard to be in a bad mood on a Friday night in the greatest stadium in the known universe. You got all the fixins. Good people Great atmosphere and a Big fire.

I just now moved back to Steubenville from Seattle and I don't plan to go back. I'm looking forward to living here again.

While we're on that topic, I drove in from Seattle. It was 2500 miles. I would like to get my car checked out and the oil changed. Can anyone recommend a place that I could go?

FWK I'm interested in your thoughts on how the area has changed since you were here. I'm not talking about schools and football stadiums but an overall perspective of the area. I had left the valley for 9 years and came back in the early 90's. It interests me to here how someone who grew up here so many years ago(haha) sees things now in the valley.

IMO, Elder isn't even the best stadium in Cincinnati. You at least got to have some real seats.

No, my house in Seattle is not yet sold. I am renting an apartment on Sunset Blvd. until I have the cash to buy a house here.

Give me a week or two before I answer this. So far all I have seen is Krogers and Bob Evans.

I have had two big surprises so far. One was the state of the downtown. There just isn't much left. The downtown is relative clean except for an unsightly mess in front of the Grand Theater. I never did figure out what that was all about, but there was furniture on the sidewalk. It looked horrible.

The other big surprise was the number of cops I saw. They were cruising everywhere. It is amazing the amount of crime in Steubenville considering the police presence.

I got another surprise today. Two of my favorite stores are gone. I'm talking about Creegan and Gertrude Lee. I remember when Gertrude Lee had a big setup in The Hub. My parents and I would go there every Christmas and get a big bag of oriental creams.

Is it true that downtown Steubenville is getting a bunch of new stores? That's the rumor I heard. The downtown really needs them.

I've been to Steubenville twice in the last 5 years or so, I haven't been all around the whole town, but what I did see, I thought was nice.

Big Red doesn't need no stinkin kicker!!!Well we could of used one against Mooney last year but only if he could of hit 70 yarders.
