The other number ones lost to a 9 seed a 5 seed and UK lost to its 2 seed.....your argument is flawed.

The ones are gone because they were not good enough on that particular day...its the beauty of the tourney.

Of course, if Baylor pulls out a win, I would be willing to bet the refs were the main reason. Maybe the refs will volunteer to drive the team bus to Indianapolis next weekend!

Baylor definitely looks like the hungrier group. They seem emotionally dependent on that big Baylor crowd. Duke has to settle into a slower tempo and be more aggressive on the high ball screen. Of course they need to do so without fouling. Also duke needs to get to the line. I am thinking they only shot a couple first half ft's. Not going to be a good day at all if they don't find a way to get fouls on Baylor.

The officiating looks fine to me. Duke is reaching and hacking trying to keep up with quicker players. Duke is also settling for jumpers against the zone instead of attacking.

With that last possession of the half, Baylor played it terribly and gave away a chance to have a bigger lead at half. Take too much time to go for the play, then end up taking a very poor shot with no time for a put-back!

Of course Duke was shocked by their last two turnovers and didn't have the presence to get a 2 for 1 opportunity by taking a shot with 45-50 sec left, and then Baylor squandered their final opportunity.

I see way more of these two types of failings than you'd think good teams would have in both of these areas in general in these NCAA tourney games!

CC, I think a lot of times hand checks are called unevenly when a team is quicker. Duke is getting called on them because when they are reaching the Baylor guards have a step so it is more obvious. When Baylor does it, for the most part, their defenders have the quickness to stay in front so the reaches arent as blatant and wont get called.

Very possible, but Baylor is a better team with more weapons on both ends of the court than Purdue. At the same time, Singler has to get going at some point for Duke as well.

Baylor is not getting called on alot of reach ins and jumping over the back of Duke players on the boards. Duke is getting called for these things.

I dont usually say anything about calls but when the same things arent being called evenly then I will.
One of my biggest refereeing pet peeves: Even numbers of calls doesn't mean it is being called evenly(fairly)!
