There's no place for violence or threats of violence. There's also no place for even remotely implying that such nutjobs exist only on one end of our political spectrum (disclaimer - this is not aimed at you, it's for the partisan hacks sure to follow).

There are a lot of people who a very upset with the bill, and when that happens, you are gonna have some on the fringe who get carried away.
Basically, this administartion went against the will of the public, and strongarmed and or bribed some congressmen into supporting this even though their constituents were against it. If this adminstration continues to misread and flaunt its 'mandate', things will only get worse. Chicago style politics will not sell well nationally, and people are catching on.

Jim Bunning received numerous death threats while he was holding up the UE extension a few weeks ago...same with Henry Hyde and his peeps during Clinton's impeachment.

Shockingly, none of these cases made the national media for a full news cycle.

During this entire process, the only measurable violence has been committed by supporters of Obamacare.

While I don't advocate violence or wish it upon anyone. You can't have it both ways!!

Books were written and movies made on how to assassinate George W Bush, don't remember to much concern from the left when these came out.

Was much of anything said in the "media"? Nope! We were told we have to respect their free speech and opinion.

The radicals on the left are more prone to carry out the threats than those on the right IMO

See; ELF and the all overal "thugery" of the SCIU or AFLCIO and the Teamsters.

Agree with what others have posted here. I do not condone threats of violence. With that being said, I am sure with the frenzy the left and MSM had worked the populace up during the last administration regarding the war, Gitmo, torture, rising gas prices, etc. that GWB and Dick Cheney received more than their fair share death threats. I never heard them once complain about it.

On the same note, they MSM and Left have made this into a racial issue. We've seen the reports of alleged racial slurs being thrown around at Tea Party gatherings and directly at African American politicians. Were was the outrage when the Dems were saying vile disgusting things about Condi Rice and Colin Powell (of course, he regained his blackness and their admiration after he left the Bush administration)?

I guess my point is I have never seen anyone whine and cry so much about everything in my entire life, and then accuse the other side of being the ones who are whining.

I love how the media is trying to make those who supported this piece of shit as some kind of martyrs with the way they're portraying these so-called threats.

This crap goes on every day with people at the level we're talking about -- but it is now being very selectively reported because it fits an agenda.

I wouldn't be surprised if some of this is actually being staged by those who supposedly received the threats to make them appear more likable as the backlash against this legislation takes place.

John Bocierri now represents our district...a district formerly longtime represented by republican Ralph Regula. When Ralph retired, Bocierri won the seat in a close and hotly contested election. The district has been traditionally conservative, but there was some hope that it could be well represented by a conservative democrat. John got off to a good start by initially opposing the healthcare bill because it is too expensive...but allowed himself to be strongarmed by the Obama administration. His cave in is not being well received in my neck of the woods. What might have been a promising politcal career has now been radicalized (note the banner at the top of this thread...a big Thanks from the ultra liberal SEIU). John is going to have an impossible time trying to run as a tough, thoughtful legislator in touch with his constituents.

Do you think the attacks against those that are outspoken on the right are justified?? Beck, Palin, Limbaugh, Hannity, GW Bush, Oil Industry, Logging Industry, Fox News....etc etc etc.

It's a two way street, but the press will only cover now those whiney little liberals that say they were called names and told where to stick the bill. Sticks and stones people....sticks and stones.

The media doesn't have to cover threats; regardless of who is offended. But hey, its what many (too many) want to see, hear and read. Too many rumors, lies and other misleading posts on this forum.

Wanted to add that those who feel for poor old Rush, Beck and Hannity should understand that they all live in glass houses. Million dollar houses built with money earned by each of them as they say all they can to stir up some who believe the country is doomed. Qoute Limbaugh'' we have to run those bastards out of Washington''!

And just to add something else, those in Washington have made their millions on the backs of the taxpayer too. To spread the wealth of those that have been successful in life will not go down well in this country. They voted against the will of the people on this particular bill. They must deal with the results, good or bad.

Are you insinuating that those results may include violence and that there are justifiable reasons for such actions?

Assumption: So death threats are ok against those people because the speak against this administration? I don't "feel sorry for them" they choose to put themselves in public situations, I am just wondering why the Left doesn't condemn it when it happens to the right side of the isle?

Where was Nancy when the movies were made about Bush? Could she have quietly wanted it to happen as the original poster suggests about the right in this situation?

Who do we know this is all coming from the right? I wonder how many that wanted the public option in the bill are pissed it didn't happen? Could those on the left be doing this to give the appearance of it coming from the right?

And yea! I do want to throw all those bastards out of Washington! What's wrong with voting in a little change in that town hmmm?

What a bunch of thin skinned little whiners!

Don't even try to fucking say the media doesn't mention attacks on GOPer's. Cantor's office being shot at was the lead story.

If this kinda shit happens to anyone it's horseshit. The people who do this should be arrested and put in jail

From an email I just got from Organizing for America:

A conservative blogger posted the home address of Congressman Tom Perriello, urging tea partiers to "drop by." Other members have had death threats. Democratic offices have been vandalized.

And the actions of a few "conservatives" mean that everyone else not a Democrat in this country is evil?

So you endorse this behavior??

Look...if this had been a Republican idea, and this was liberals doing this shit...I would be as againist it as I am now. There is no need for this kinda shit anytime no matter how mad you are.

Here is another report of Threats:
http://politicalwire.com/archives/2010/03/25/threats_to_lawmakers_worsen.html
Threats to Lawmakers Worsen
Politics Daily reports that "at least 10 members of Congress have received threats since the health care reform bill passed Sunday night," ranging from threatening calls to homes and offices to bricks thrown through windows at offices.

The FBI is even investigating a ruptured gas line at the home of Rep. Tom Perriello's (D-VA) brother, and Politico reports that a coffin was placed on the lawn of Rep. Russ Carnahan (D-MO).

Meanwhile, The Hill said House Republican Whip Eric Cantor (R-VA) accused Democratic campaign officials of using the threats directed at Democrats as "a political weapon" and as "media vehicles for political gain."

Update: The Richmond Times reports police are investigating a window struck by a bullet at Cantor's office.

Has anyone heard the voicemails Stupak has recieved? They are really scary
