FW, you continue to say that last year's team was better--so that means you aren't picking the Cavs to win it all this year?
I am hoping, picking and praying the Cavs win it all. Moreso than you can ever know. I have a little bit of my hard earned money riding on it...just like last year. Just like last year's team, the Cavs are the overrall favorite.
Let me share with you and your little toadies here that luuuuuv to pile on me.....one of the reason's why I loved last year's team....they were picked to finish 4th, with the over/under being somewhere around 48 games. They absolutely smashed all expectations with the year they had,. Mike Brown won coach of the year in a landslide. The team was mesmerizingly good. I couldn't believe that our Cavs had gone from a middle of the pack playoff contender, to the absolute best in one short year. Obviously, the major pick up was Mo Gotti.
And despite that record smashing team's success, you had your group of Debbie Downers bitchin and complaining...especially during the stretch run, when they had to continue their unbelievable play in solidifying home court advantage over the Lakers.
This year's team is approaching the level of last year's team...and they have an excellent shot at winning it all. Let's just hope and pray that people like Rashard Lewis don't bury last second, contested 3's...Or that sharpshooter DWest doesn't clank a game winning 18 footer from the baseline...or that up one, with 13 seconds to play, a 50-50 ball glances of DWest's leg instead of Howard's leg...or that an easy game winning tap in falls off instead of falling in.
The FootWedge haters can all circle jerk your teeny puds regarding what Jamison is and what he isn't. I've admitted several times that I am in the MINORITY in stating that he's overrated. But what really honks my ass...those people that make the claim that the Magic were better than our 08-09 Cavaliers. Because they weren't. What Orlando did was pull off a major upset of epic proportions. People want to spew their crap on how bad the Cavs defended the 3ball. Last year, under the tuteledge of Brownie, they were the fucking best at defending it. I repeat...the best in the league.
Shit happens in sports. I can remember playing on baseball teams and basketball teams that pulled off huge upsets and how exhillarating they were. I was also on the other end of things, and remembered how horrible I felt.
I can't help the fact that my personality views events from a factual perspective versus the knee jerk, easily sold, perspective. That's the way I am.
