I saw this post by Upper90 on my news feed today and had to laugh at the memory. They were so good and so bad at the same time. And their whole first album was amazing.

They're alright until he starts singing.

But, I'm a bigot, so what do I know haha!

I loved their first cd, every song was good. I only liked a few from their second album though. Did they ever release a third....(yes I'm going to look)

A blast from 2004. When I was in high school I swear that song would spontaneously erupt in the hallways between periods.

I really liked that song when it came out. Some kids in my art class used to play it all the time on the big speakers in the class room and the art teacher would scream "somebody turn off that gawd-awful song!"

Hated 'em. Was like ripping AC/DC's riffs and sticking a bad singer with 'em.

Really? I mean, from a Technical standpoint, Justin Hawkins has a good voice. HOWEVER...I do definitely understand that it's not a voice that can be universally loved. I thought he was a decent songwriter, as well.

They broke up after a terrible second record, he went to Rehab, he's out and writing songs for Meatloaf and Adam Lambert.

Crazy. I have indeed heard that they were great in concert, but for the most part, as this thread would indicate, they were an either love 'em or can't stand 'em kinda band.

Definitely loved them and their whole first CD. When I first heard Justin Hawkins I thought he could be the new Freddie Mercury for Queen (don't freak out people...I know no one could ever truly replace/be Freddie Mercury). I know they eventually found someone but I can't remember who it is.

It was Paul Rodgers (Formerly of Bad Company)....but I also thought that Hawkins would be a solid choice if Queen offered him.

Yeah, I guess people can consider his voice to be alright from a technical view.
But honestly, to me he sounded like a castrato with a mouth full of water.
