Well, some mock drafts have the Browns picking Clausen in the first round. Not according to this article.

I think the Browns should figure out a way to get Bradford. I know this has been discussed at nauseum on a different thread, but it's tome for the Browns to draft a quarterback or 2.

I think that Bradford is the best QB in the draft for the NFL. I think Clausen is a born loser. He couldn't get it done at ND in the big games. I don't think he had 1 big win the entire time he was there.

I think all the top QB's suck.

If they take a QB, I'm done with the NFL until the Browns prove to me they're not wasting my time.

Take defense this year, worry about QB in the offseason or next years draft.

Bradford is booty.

You're right golf, Clausen sure played terrible on defense.

Like they haven't wasted everyone's time for the last decade putting out a crappy qb other than the Kelly Holcombe year.

You can't win in the NFL without a quarterback. Doesn't matter if you have the 86 Bear defense...or the German army.

Jake Delhomme....not the stretch 4 guy you're looking for.

Bradford is booty.

Gotta love ND homers sticking up for there obvious busts. People said the same thing about Brady "He didn't play defense, etc" but look at him? Can't even hack it on one of the worst teams in the league and traded for 2 6th round draft picks LOL

I think Bradford is the best as well. Only concern is his injury from last year.

How do I know? Hmm, I'm pretty sure I said "I THINK"...

Besides, Holmgren said he doesn't see the Browns using their first couple of picks on a QB, so he obviously agrees with my point of view.

None of these QB's screams "Waste your top 7 pick on me"...

Wanna compare the stats of ...let's just say...Drew Brees with Bradford?

Nobody knows forr sure who's gonna pan out as a quarterback...but the longer you wait, the longer the growing pains in having a shit team.

This team should draft a top quarterback this year....the waiting period is over.

The sad thing is Quinn has had more NFL success than any OSU quarterback in any of our lifetimes. And yes, I know that Troy Smith had won the Ravens job before he got sick.

EDIT: And you can take that to the bank

Wrong.

Tom Tupa played for 14 Years, made 1 probowl, and 1 all pro-team.

:)

As a QB he wasn't good, but he was better than Quinn.

I am with Ltrain in that I don't think there are any top QBs this year. Clausen doesn't impress me and Bradford is iffy at best....when considering using the 7th pick on them.

Defense, Defense, Defense.....I want Eric Berry

I think Clausen will be a solid NFL QB, maybe the best in this class. I would still take defense. I would take defense or offensive line with every pick.

I think Bradford is the best in this draft and if he stays healthy could eventually be compared to Peyton Manning.

The Browns don't really have the ammo in this draft to trade up to get him. The $64,000 question is....would you be willing to part with this years' 1st, next years' 1st and MORE to get him? I just think there are too many needs to mortgage it all for him. We already tried that with Quinn and it failed miserably.

...We need help on secondary badly...why not draft a DB? Why just DL or OL?

The waiting period is over?

If we draft another QB now, without addressing the other issues first, we will have another Tim Couch or Brady Quinn. A failed QB, somewhat due to their abilities but some blame can be put upon the lack of talent surrounding the team.

You cannot expect a QB to come from college into an organization like this and expect to win right away. Do what Baltimore did. Build a nasty defense and then draft a QB that doesn't have to be great to win (Flacco).

Do ya REALLY think Holmgren is going to bring in a Tebow, McCoy, Lefevour, even Bradford and throw them into the fire?

He has TWELVE draft picks this and ONE of them will likely be used on a QB.

With the 2 year deal to Delhomme the impression that I have is that this QB will sit 2 years and learn before hitting the field. Especially if it's a Tebow. Holmgren will want to "fix" him.

During that stretch they will have 11 other draft picks this year, next year's draft picks, the remainder of THIS free agency and next years free agency to "address the other issues."

I'm ALL for building up the defense but if anyone thinks we don't need a QB, they are fooling themselves.

What was the record of the Cowboys when Aikman was a rookie? I'll help you...1-13. Do you think the Cowboys needed help elsewhere? The following year, the team made the playoffs and were there for a long time.

What was the record of the Pittspuke Steelers when they drafted Bradshaw #1 in 1970? Let me help you, iy was 1-13, do you think they needed help in other positions? And in Bradshaw's case, he was a risky proposition in that he played ball at Louisiana Tech.

You compare this situation with that of Tim Couch. As bad as the Browns are, they are nowhere near the level of putridocraty as the expansion team was. And as a sidenote, Couch was a complete flop anyhow. Wouldn't have mattered who drafted him. He never caught on with any other team.

You can't win without a good quarterback. Period. And in most cases, it takes a quarterback a couple of years to learn the NFL. the Mannings, Brees, Bradshaw, Favre and yes, even Tom Brady....all stunk their freshmen season.
