No no no..you misinterpreted what I said.centralbucksfan wrote:Southern Cal in the NCAA? Georgia didn't even get in the NIT! You said they have lost to bad teams...well to me, that's irrelevant, becuase all that says is they don't "get up" for bad teams...well, this is the NCAA tournament, there aren't any bad teams in the NCAA, so all the bad losses are irrelevant. They've beaten the #1 and #2 teams in the country, so they obviously play well against top notch competition...that's why they'll beat OSU.

Gotcha...but thats bullshit too. And as I said, thats what seperates the good from the average teams...consistancy. OSU puts on a run, Tenn could tank as they have in games. A handful of their losses were by double digits, UK drubbed them. Not handling adversity well is not a good trait. And adversity will hit them vs OSU. OSU on the other hand...has great bball IQ and never gets rattled no matter whats going on. So we'll see how it plays out....I like OSU chances.SportsAndLady wrote:No no no..you misinterpreted what I said.centralbucksfan wrote:Southern Cal in the NCAA? Georgia didn't even get in the NIT! This is title bout round two from the '07 regional semis. I was almost jumped by 10 or 15 angry Buckeye fans at Max and Erma's on Henderson in Columbus for my pro-Volunteer chanting in that one. It was great. When Tennessee went up 20, I almost lost it. My buddy and I were loving it and our bartender, a nomad from Lubbock, Texas, who despised Buckeye fans, kept sliding us drinks on the house
After one Lofton three ball, I honestly reenacted Reggie Miller's length-of-the-court trot after the three over Jordan in the '98 playoffs inside Max & Erma's.
Unfortunately, those fans present that night got a good laugh at the end. But I like to think I got the last one, and that they all died in traffic on the way home.
...In all serious, this should be a GREAT game. Looking forward to it.

IT's not bullshit at all...look at the fucking games UT has played against top competition--they've won! They simply do not get up against bad competition; I saw it first hand in Knoxville when they struggled with Georgia at home...it was like they didn't even wanna be there.centralbucksfan wrote: Gotcha...but thats bullshit too. They play against top competition, they play to their fullest. That's how their team is...don't worry, don't agree with it..you'll see it next friday night.

You are arguing that every time the face top competition, they bring their A game. If so, their A game was 30 points worse than Kentucky's the last time they played.

To be fair, Tennessee beat both Kentucky and Kansas at home. They lost by 11 at UK. What was their biggest win not at home? They won't be playing at home Friday night.
I don't want to get my hopes all high on an Ohio State win, but I think those are valid points.

Well they lost to a 100% Purdue by 1 on a neutral court.Terry_Tate wrote: To be fair, Tennessee beat both Kentucky and Kansas at home. They lost by 11 at UK. What was their biggest win not at home? They won't be playing at home Friday night.

In other words, their biggest win away from home was at Mississippi State, who was still alive in the NIT until yesterday.

Ohio State also beat Purdue AT PURDUE by 4, and I believe it was one of Hummel's best games of the season.SportsAndLady wrote:Well they lost to a 100% Purdue by 1 on a neutral court.Terry_Tate wrote: To be fair, Tennessee beat both Kentucky and Kansas at home. Thanks for the answer. They didn't beat a single NCAA Tournament team away from home then.

Yeah and in the tournament, you're not playing road games...you're playing in a stadium that is for the most part half full of your fans cheering you on.
Neutral court games are the best tell in this scenario, and Tennessee has one against a very good team where they just fell short.
