Hiland leads 22-17 in the 2nd.

Hiland missing a lot of layups and Weaver is the only one that has really gotten it going on the offensive end.

Keep the updates coming, Wes. Can't seem to pick it up anywhere! Usually ohhssports.com carries the games, but, I guess not this year.

Hiland's 27% shooting is killing them.

I honestly don't think that Harvest Prep has ever heard of a jump stop.

Hiland girls scored about as much in the 2nd half as the boys did against Shadyside.

Prep and their 3 transfers are state champs.

I'll catch some flack, but poetic justice was served.

Congrats on a fine season Hawks.

Great effort by the Hawks! How about Stutzman taking 5 charges! She played with all her heart as did others. Just couldn't make the lay ups when they needed them most. Maybe the Hiland boys and girls should work on layups this summer :)

Watching this game on STO, I was suprised how Hiland played the last quarter. Looked very nervous and couldn't take care of the ball. Bad passes, ill advised shots. Hiland definitely looked rattled to say the least. Nevertheless, still a great season for the Hiland Hawks. How many girls coming back next year for the Hawks?

Just got back after being out all evening. Heard some of the Longsinger's broadcast by cell phone, but missed at lot, including most of the fourth quarter. Mark mentioned that Hiland couldn't make layups so I went through the OSHAA transcript and counted them. Hiland was 8/24 on layups, including only four out of the last sixteen. Not having seen the game, it's hard to tell how difficult those shots were, but it certainly sounds like a very bad day for shooting layups, and a bad time to have it happen.

I was curious about the call with 0:36 where Hilary was called for a blocking foul and Rose made the two go-ahead free throws that turned out to be decisive. Mark and Fuzz were astonished that it was not called a charge, which certainly could have made a huge difference. They do have their biases like anyone else, but they do call it as straight as they can and don't make comments like that very often; If their 'home' team get's an obvious break on a call, they'll mention it. I'm sure some of you saw it on TV and wondered whether it gave a good perspective and what it looked like. I'm just curious. Even if it's not a close call, those calls can be difficult if none of the officials are in a good position. I saw a rerun a couple of weeks ago, I don't remember who was playing, but a defensive player was in the paint, about 6 feet from the bucket when an offensive player crossed the top of the circle. The defensive player never moved an inch, the offensive player plowed into them, a couple of seconds later, and it was called a blocking foul. I'm sure it was an honest mistake, probably none of the officials had a good look at the defensive player. It happens sometimes.

A disappointing end to a great season. Wish that Mykeila and Arianna could have played.

That blocking foul they called on Hillary was not the best call. The girl ran right over Hil and took a few minutes for her to pull herself off the floor. On TV is look like it was a charge but it's the ref's call. The layups made all the difference in this game.. I don't think the Hiland girls are used to having close games like this. They are used to beating teams by 20 plus points. Their only close games before State were against Regina and Luthern East.

peoplerfunny - only 1 starter is returning that is number 5 Kenzie Miller she is a sophmore. Stucky, Weaver, Yoder, and Stutzman all seniors and Mikayla Mast is also a senior.
