Good call on Little Kings Cream Ale...
to me that will always taste like the floor of Sawyer Hall, University of Cincinnati, 1984.

I have a bottle of Little Kings I won at a class reunion 10 years ago. I'm keeping it for our 50th reunion ... 15 more years to go.

On the OTHER end of the scale...

In the late 1970's, you could still buy a six pack of a brand called "Utica" at a couple of the OSU campus carryouts for 99 cents for cans. We made the mistake of pouring it into a glass one night - there were still a few grains of dregs in the bottom (the small bits of grain left over in the brewing process. The SOB's didn't even bother to filter it the stuff..

Oddly, the Utica Brewing Company is thriving today as a "brewery/bottler for rent" for a lot of the premium brewing companies...

My dad loves Little Kings...Not his typical Beer but he does still like it.

Kroger used to sell their own brand of beer called "Cost Cutter". It was in a bright yellow can like all their store brand items. That stuff was like vomit in can.
