Landy is #50! That has to be a pity vote.
Yeah, that was retarded. I agree with a couple of those rankings, but some of them they just throw out the big names to get people to read/watch.

I mean, Thierry Henry is 20th in that poll. Add another 0 and you might be closer to the truth.

his head seems to be on top of every ball that crosses the box this season...it is almost uncanny.

Yeah, imo, Rooney is pushing Ronaldo and Messi as the best. He has surpassed Kaka this season but Im just not ready to place him ahead of either Messi or Cristiano yet.

I have a hard time giving Rooney props as the best in the game.....hes is still a striker, and IMO he isn't as talented as some of the best midfielders in the world. Regardless he is one of the top strikers in the game.

This isnt a huge hit at all for England, theres a chance he wouldnt have even seen the field, and either way theres still Lennon, Walcott, Downing, Young, SWP, etc.

Not a big deal. Maybe for viewership or some crap like that, but for Englands chances, not a big deal at all.

I know exactly what you mean. The only time I put true #9's as the best in the world is when they are scoring every half chance they get, which Rooney is. As soon as that falls off a little talented mids like Iniesta and Xavi move right back ahead of him because they bring so much more to the game. Iniesta is the most subtle great player in football right now.

Regardless, Messi and Ronaldo have been in just as fine form as Rooney this season and they bring more to the game from the Mid/Winger position than Rooney. So they get tops.

At this position in time, Rooney is the best in game. He is simply dominating every time he plays and scoring at an incredible rate.

Anyone going to the US tune up game against Turkey in Philly the couple weeks before they start the WC?

You really put him ahead of Ronaldo or Messi? Messi just slashed apart Valencias defense for a second half hat trick Sunday.

Rooney 25 in 28 games with 3 assists
Messi 22 in 23 games with 9 assists
Ronaldo 15 in 17 games with 4 assists

Ill give you Ronaldo because he has been banged up, but I dont think Rooney can unseat Messi.

Yeah, I do...watching him play as of late as convinced me that at this point in time, he is dominating and helping his team win more than anyone in the world at the moment. Without Rooney, Man U isn't at the top of the premiere league. Take Messi off Barcelona, I don't think they lost as much as Man U would. Again, this is all my opinion so take it for what it is worth.

I mean when you have Iniesta, Xavi, and Toure anchoring your midfield, you really only need one striker haha

So if you could pick any player in the world to play for your squad you would take Rooney? Thats insane. Give me Ronaldo everytime.

Rooney is great at filling it up....as a striker, but overall hes not as skilled as Ronaldo...not even close.

I never said that there did I? I said at this moment he is playing the best soccer and in my opinion means the most to his team. I never said I would take him as my first pick nor is it even close to what I said haha

Eto'o would be my first pick just so I could drink with him ;)

This past 2 weeks Messi showed why he is still the best in the game. Unreal his last 3 matches.

3 goals vs Valencia in La Liga
2 goals vs Stuttgart in UCL
3 goals vs Zaragoza in La Liga (was tripped for a penalty that wouldve surely been his 4th, and Ibra took the penalty)

The goal vs Zaragoza was simply insane. Messi is just unreal.
